The Spring 2017 Wedding Season star ted off for me with one of my most anticipated ceremonies performed so far. Nat and I have known one another for almost 10 years - in fact, I was her first employer - and over the last four years, I have been thrilled to see her relationship with Yas develop, the bir th of their first child, Hugo, in 2016; and finally preparing to have their wedding on 1 September 2017. While I was also attending their wedding as a guest with my par tner, it was an absolute honour that Nat and Yas asked me to be the Celebrant for their ver y special day. Having lived in Cairns for the last 18 months, the girls had planned a fantastic celebration in the ver y picturesque village of Palm Cove. Their ceremony was held at the Allamanda Chapel - a purpose built nondenominational chapel right on the waterfront of Palm Cove - with the reception held next door at NuNus Restaurant. Given that there are not that many same-sex weddings held in Cairns, Nat and Yas were really impressed and happy to find that all the vendors they approached were really excited about being par t of their special day. Given that for most weddings it is the Bride-to-Be who does most of the planning, styling and organising, I asked the girls (given there were two brides) was it difficult to plan and decide on a style for the day. Thankfully they both had similar ideas for the overall look, and both knew they wanted a vintage theme for the reception - simple yet elegant. They each took on different roles in the planning.
