Dear friend, Thanks to your support, a total of 70,000 trees were planted to restore 52.58 hectares of land in Grey Sauble, one of the 36 conservation areas in Ontario. By planting trees in areas that have been degraded or deforested, reforestation helps the environment by guaranteeing, or accelerating the reestablishment of healthy forest structure by regrowing the forest canopy and preserving biodiversity within the ecosystem. None of this would be possible without you. On behalf of everyone at One Tree Planted, thank you! What follows is a report outlining the project you supported in Ontario. I hope you enjoy reading it and truly feel the impact you have made.

As one of 36 Conservation Authorities established in the Province of Ontario, Grey Sauble has made it their mission to promote and undertake sustainable management of renewable natural resources and to provide responsible leadership to enhance biodiversity and environmental awareness.

Relating to their mission, this project planted 70,000 trees in the area given the numerous benefits it would reap. These include restoring forest and riparian cover and forest interior habitat to improve the water quality and restore the native ecosystem for different wildlife species such as white-tailed deer, brook trout and the cerulean warbler.

Planting trees in this area will help create forest habitat for numerous wildlife species, including forest interior species. Planting along watercourses will help to stabilize soils, and cool the water to maintain and enhance cool water stream habitats and reduce erosion. Maintaining these trees will also help to sequester carbon from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Investing in trees will result in sustainable communities with happier and healthier people. By planting on public lands, the project promotes health and well-being by creating outdoor spaces for people to enjoy and encourage physical activity. Trees remove air pollution, reduce stress, and promote social ties and community. Trees also promote a strong economy and can provide numerous resources to the local people that need them.
