LIGHTING You absolutely, 100% cannot have a beautiful event like this without the lighting. It's the icing on the cake and the final touch that brings all the elements together. Lighting costs range between $800 - $1,000

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Do you find yourself asking that question over and over? Sure, you like something, but the reality is budgets are the boss and knowing exactly what you're getting into is key. We couldn't agree more. So, before you get your hopes up... or completely write off an idea you absolutely must have at your next event because you think you couldn't afford it, we sourced a party planner extraordinaire, Eliana Baucicault of ELLYB EVENTS to give us the dish on exactly how much these event elements cost from a recent wedding she designed. VENUE RENTAL Your venue is the foundation of your event and the location you choose will vary in price. Venue Rental cost at this venue is $3,500 for a Friday or Sunday evening. $4,500 for a Saturday evening plus a $4,500 bar minimum on Saturday evenings.

CENTERPIECES Your flowers are the centerpiece of your decor, hence the name. Centerpiece costs here were $450 per tall arrangement and $150 per low arrangement.

RENTALS Your linens and chiavari chairs are a great way to take the look of your event up a notch. Linen cost ranges from $28 to $48 per linen. Napkin rentals start at $1.25 per napkin. Chair rentals range from $6.50 to $8.00 per chair. Some companies will charge up to a dollar a chair for setup and strike.

Definitely the caterer, we wanted the food to carry out our theme of Vintage Carnival! The menu was perfect and the food was fantastic.

DO: Pick a color and carry it throughout your wardrobe. Besides bridesmaid dresses, carrying it throughout the wedding party jewelry, grooms socks (cute!), bowties or even nail polish.

DON’T: Waste money on favor goods... sure, give your guests a snack to take with them as they go, but mini frames, candles and beer coozies, while cute, will just end up in their junk drawer and be an added cost for you.

DO: Find designers who are willing to give you the native files for your stationery and branded pieces and have them printed yourself. While you might spend more time doing the dirty work yourself, you’ll save in labor from having someone else do it.

DON’T: Worry about traditions like champagne toasts, programs, or menu cards. If you’re looking to stretch the dollar, eliminate things that won’t make a huge impact on your event whether you include them or not.

DO: Use the venue to inspire the look and theme of your event. Doing this will provide a great (free) platform for the event that you don't have to spend thousands on decor to try to cover up.

A little vitamin D, breeze blowing in their hair and some sunshine on their skin. But, an outdoor party can go from good to bad quickly if the party or it's guests aren't prepared for what Mother Nature brings.... and in the south, she's known for bringing the heat. So, we sourced Party Planner and Author Hester Parks of PARK AVENUE EVENTS to give you the best tips to make the most of your outdoor occasions. Read on and do your due diligence to make your outdoor occasion this summer a cool winner.

For the Hostess.. DO AN UPDO

You can control your body temperature through your head and neck. So why not bare it all. Go ahead pin up that hair; get it off your neck for immediate relief in those hot temps. It doesn’t have to be neat, you know these days messy is better.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER Keep it loose. Clothing that is. Pair that loose and light weight clothing with a stylish hat to help keep cool as the summer temps start to rise.

MATCH THE MENU TO THE SEASON Avoid serving spicy food and dehydrators such as salt. Stock the frig with fruit and veggies. Melons such as cantaloupe are mostly water so they help cool you down and hydrate you. Also, forgo the frosty beers, keep it simple with water, water, and water. PARISIAN PARTY This celebration, inspired by a trip to France, was held at LE LAFAYETTE, a local French restaurant in Naples, Florida where guests feasted on authentic French cuisine while mingling on the covered veranda.

Shades of rose pink to vintage pink and white, perfect for the anticipated arrival of a little girl, were prevalent throughout the French restaurant that served as the venue for this non-traditional, extraordinary French vintage themed baby shower. Using these layers of pink and white amongst the garden flowers and vintage furniture pieces created a French countryside feel to this soft and romantic get together.

TABLES On the table an ivory linen and rose pink pintuck from PARTYTIME RENTALS was used. It was important that the linens added to the aesthetic, but that they weren't the focus. On the gold chiavari chairs were perfectly tied pink bows, to accentuate that this was most certainly to welcome a baby girl! Finally, to make sure that there was contrast to the gold chargers that LE LAFAYETTE provided, gray napkins were used (there was also gray on the menu cards).


THE DECOR

STATIONERY

The decor was enhanced by a spring garden of flowers including sweet peas, anemones, roses, peonies, hydrangea and cherry blossoms. Cascading down the staircase was a garland of flowers and greenery that could be removed and taken as gifts at the end of the shower.

All the letterpress stationery, including the invitation suite, notecards and menu was custom created by ELUM for the exquisite shop ARABESQUE. They also provided the notebook favors and all of the toys and dolls used in the "gift nursery."

Besides the flowers, ELLA’S VINTAGE RENTALS brought in vintage furniture and chandeliers, most of it with a French flair. Kelly (from WEDDINGS BY SOCIALITES) just loved the antique nursery set that all the open gifts were placed in. The mannequin shown here is like a guest book! Each guest takes a slip of paper and writes a pick-me-up note to the new mom. This way when she has a down day, she can open one of her envelopes and find a nice note to cheer her up. She can also place all the cards in the baby book or shower scrapbook.

BAKED ALASKA

YOU WILL NEED: • • • • • •

2 pints ice cream (brick-style) Sponge cakes or layer cake (1 inch-thick) 5 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar 2/3 cup sugar

PREPARATION:

Lay ice cream bricks side by side; measure length and width. Trim cake 1 inch larger on all sides than ice cream measurements. Place cake on a piece of foil. Center ice cream on cake. Cover and freeze till firm. At serving time, beat together egg whites, vanilla, and cream of tartar to soft peaks. Gradually add in sugar beating after each tablespoon is added. Transfer cake with ice cream to a baking sheet. Spread with egg white mixture, sealing to edges of cake and baking sheet all around. Swirl to make peaks. Place oven rack in lowest position. Bake in a 500F degrees oven about 3 minutes or till golden. Slice and serve immediately.

PAPER PRODUCTS

Paper is typically used for the first wedding anniversary, but who says you have to follow those rules these days. The main focus point was the paper flower number "15" that represented the couple’s number of years together.

Paper flowers were used for the boutonniere and bouquet, while paper confetti and a paper back drop were used for the dessert station. Vows were printed on paper and made into paper flowers as well. About 30 paper garlands were hung from a tree to continue the paper theme.

The anniversary cake, created by CLASSIC CHEESECAKES AND CAKES, was a stunning, two tier almond cake with buttercream filling adorned with an adorable flower.

Who says you have to wear white AGAIN. Think black tie with a twist, the groom in a tuxedo with Converse tennis shoes and the bride in a black formal gown with a fascinator. If you decide to pull out your old wedding gown - display it on a mannequin for all guests to see. If you have children, coordinate their attire for the special day too.

The vintage globes and clocks were the perfect thread to tie the simple idea of it being time to save the world, and that it is entirely possible to plan a beautiful and sustainable wedding.

VEGGIE DECOR Fresh veggies and eggs served as the decor for the ceremony site. A trip to the local organic farmers’ market yielded carrots, red and green tomatoes, purple beans, green onions, radishes, and muscadines. Vintage crates and baskets displayed the region’s seasonal bounty and were later used to move the veggies to the kitchen in preparation for a yummy succotash.

BRIDE AND GROOM FASHION The groom’s bow tie was fashioned from the same vintage ticking used throughout the setting. It coordinated perfectly with the custom linen sash worn by the bride. The boutonniere was especially adorable with a speckled chicken feather, rosemary, and brunia. Vegan sandals were selected in a fun blue-green color.

BEING GREEN Every detail was sourced locally or borrowed instead of bought-new, to reduce our environmental impact. Tin cans rescued from the local recycling center were adorned with vintage ticking, lace, and buttons. Old clocks and globes procured from thrift shops were tucked in amongst vintage books tied with jute twine.

INVITATIONS MACON LETTER SERVICE designed the simple invitations, envelopes, and menu cards using recycled paper and soy-based inks. Vintage unused postage supplied by Verde Studio emphasized soil, water, and air conservation.

BOUQUET & FLOWERS The bride’s bouquet was designed with elements plucked directly from the gardens at PINEOLA FARMS. English garden roses, dusty miller, dill weed, and Queen Anne’s lace mixed beautifully with clematis vine, hydrangea, tulips, and astilbe.

FARM TABLE The good news is, farm tables aren't just for farms anymore. You can rent these beautiful tables typically found in most dining rooms from most large rental companies these days.

BURLAP RUNNER Soften the table setting without getting overly formal. Burlap or any linen cut with rough edges makes a pretty and quick table runner. Ready to line with centerpieces and bread.

GRANDMA'S CHINA Break out your very best china and mix and match those pieces. This look never gets old and is a great way to add some flare to a rustic outdoor occasion.

KNICK KNACKS You don't have to look too far for centerpieces like these. Get creative and source your very own house for items like tin cans, books and clocks. Put them together and what do you have... a very vintage centerpiece.

THE VENUE PINEOLA FARMS consists of 12 picturesque acres of gardens, sprawling lawns, and pecan orchards located in the heart of Georgia. The 1865 plantation home and 1930’s fully restored cotton barn can accommodate from 1 to 250 guests in true southern fashion. Delise and Paul Knight opened Pineola Farms for weddings five years ago, and are honored to make brides’ and grooms’ dreams come true. CEREMONY & RECEPTION SETTING All of the decor was decidedly borrowed or repurposed, from the old curved church pews and the farmhouse tables to the reception area itself, which was built entirely of reclaimed materials - old windows, doors, tin, and paneling. The venue’s collection of old books, hymnals, globes, and clocks highlighted the repurposed theme.

The carrot cake created by LISAMAE CAKES was a simple three-tiered design made with organic carrots from Lisa’s own backyard garden and pecans grown locally. Traditional cream cheese frosting was covered with a thin layer of off-white fondant. The cake itself was gluten-free and was wrapped with strips of vintage ticking and lace and punctuated with antique buttons.

VENUE The courtyard at SUMMEROUR STUDIO was immediately the perfect choice. With its freckled cobblestones and tall brick arches covered in ivy, it's just magical. We were inspired by the lush greenery and wild lavender that surrounds the space and incorporated it into the design. The picturesque arches and quiet atmosphere made us feel that we could have been anywhere in the world.


THE SETTING Whites, creams, and grays were used throughout for all of the furniture pieces, provided by SETTEE - EVENT DECOR RENTAL to build a soft and cozy setting.

STATIONERY To coordinate with the theme, CHARLOTTE LANE created a beautiful custom hand-painted invitation suite, with watercolor background and envelope liners. The invitation included a gray rabbit and they snuck a line from the book in the creases of the envelopes: "there once was a Velveteen rabbit…and he was really splendid."

FLOWERS & DECOR The styling of the flowers by GERTIE MAE’S FLORAL STUDIO, as well as the lush garland, was natural and textured. A timeless essence was seen throughout the guest table and other details within the design elements.

INSPIRATION Danielle and Kristine, of SIMPLY CHARMING SOCIALS, loved the simple, natural beauty of the story and its setting and wanted to translate that into each element of the design.

Try this.. SWEET SUMMER SALAD YOU WILL NEED: • 1 pound baby arugula, washed and dried thoroughly • 2 large ruby red grapefruits peeled and cut into segments (Note the thin, white membranes that divide up

the orange. They should be easy to see once the peel has been completely removed from the fruit. Insert your knife as close to that membrane as possible and make a slice parallel to it, right to the center of the orange. Find the membrane on the other side of that orange section and make another slice down to the center of the orange. You should be left with a tender, juicy orange segment. A sharp knife makes this process go much more quickly and results in much cleaner slices.)

• 1 cup chopped cashews • 1 avocado, peeled and sliced into wedges Pomegranate Vinaigrette: • • • • • • •

1/2 cup fresh or bottled pomegranate juice 1/4 cup red-wine vinegar 2 tablespoons honey 1/2 cup olive oil (not extra-virgin) or sunflower oil Salt and pepper Pomegranate seeds, for garnish 1 tablespoon chopped chives, for garnish

PREPARATION:

In a medium bowl, mix the pomegranate juice, vinegar and honey, and let sit for 10 minutes. Whisk in the oil and adjust the seasonings. Mix in pomegranate seeds and chives, if using. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Stir thoroughly before using. Arrange either on salad plates or on one large platter the arugula with the grapefruit, avocado slices and chopped cashews. Sprinkle the salad with pomegranate seeds and fresh ground black pepper. Drizzle with the vinaigrette and serve immediately.

CAKE & DESSERT Lauren from SUGAR STYLE EVENTS knew exactly how to bring the Velveteen Rabbit theme to life when she created the mini dessert menu. From the handmade marshmallows to the mini pound cake stacks to our fave, the iced bunny sugar cookies -each dessert was scrumptious and equally as beautiful.

The dessert table runner, a simple yet elegant addition to the shower, was just a paper scroll with a handwritten scripted passage from the book.

Originally set to wed in Georgia, fate stepped in and allowed Liz and Will the opportunity to wed right down the street from where they lived at ONE OCEAN RESORT AND SPA. The space was the perfect spot for their elegant and modern beach themed wedding. Opting for a simple look for the reception, they used the natural metallic sheen of the resort's tables and alternated between tall flower arrangements and short twig arrangements with hanging votives. After enjoying the music provided by both the band and their family and friends, Liz and Will departed through a sea of four foot sparklers and a quick moment on the beach before heading to Maui, Hawaii to start their life together as husband and wife.

THE DRESS The bride wore a silk dupioni, sweetheart gown by LEA ANN BELTER. The ruching and buttons along the back of the dress added simple and elegant details. She wanted something a little different so she had a silk flower sash custom made in a gray purple and attached it to the dress to look like a belt from the back.


SUITS The groom and his groomsmen each wore charcoal grey pinstriped suits by CALVIN KLEIN with purple, gray and white striped ties creating a sharp but casual look. And the bride especially loved the groom in his suit saying, “He looked so handsome!�

SHOES Being a lover of shoes, the bride wanted to be able to wear her eggplant heels down the aisle. However, this was a challenge as she would be walking on sand. So they rented a boardwalk that was placed on top of the sand which provided a rustic wooden aisle for the bride, wedding party and guests to walk along and stand during the ceremony.

Nanette, Mark’s daughter, wanted to do something extra special for his sixtieth birthday. So she brought him down from the north and threw him a party, South Florida style. The venue, the Asian Garden at the NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDEN, was the perfect location for this tropical soiree. Utilizing the beauty of the gardens, the party was decorated in a neutral color palette with pops of tropical orange in the invitations, table accents and even the signature cocktail. The whole evening was a total and welcome surprise to the guest of honor.

They brought in pops of tropical orange through the invitation, accents on the tables, and the rum based signature cocktail, the Sweet Surrender.

CHALKBOARD Kehrin of JET SET WED helped the hosts pull all the handmade details together, including the menu which was handwritten on the chalkboard.

After a proposal with a message in a bottle, Kacey and Brian starting planning their nuptials. When they came upon the DELRAY BEACH CENTER FOR THE ARTS AT OLD SCHOOL SQUARE they knew they had found the place. It was just the right mix of quirky, fun and different that Kacey had been looking for. They decided to embrace their reception location, a vintage gymnasium, by going with a whole school dance/prom theme. From the wedding party, wearing peach and seafoam green prom inspired attire, to the buffet line, inspired by a school cafeteria line, guests were transported back to their own school dances. They reminisced about days gone by and created new memories in the propped filled photo booth.

STATIONERY The programs had the same design aspects that the invitations utilized, with peach and white bakers twine and fun banner designs, and had bubbles attached for the guests to use when the bride and groom walked down the aisle as husband and wife.

GLITTER The bride wanted a ‘fun’ style to her wedding, which meant lots of gold glitter added to almost everything including the decor and her shoes. It was an eye catching and unique detail, exactly what the bride was going for.

When Kai turned one, his parents wanted to throw him a bash that all guests, young or old, could enjoy. Hence, the apple green and sky blue mustache themed bash was born. From the invitations utilizing the mustache as the focal point all the way to the favor boxes, the mustache theme was carried throughout. Guests were treated to paella and a delicious carrot cake and took home mustache cookies along with their favor bags as a reminder of this memorable day.

CAKE TABLE The cake table was framed with blue and green paper lanterns, flower paper poms, and a large paper flag banner that read “Happy Birthday Kai." The two-tiered carrot cake was covered in white fondant and decorated with black fondant mustaches, blue swirl pops, blue and green gumballs, and one oversized green candle towering the top tier.


FAVOR BOXES Blue gable boxes were used as favor boxes for the younger guests. Each box was wrapped with an apple green ribbon and a tag that read “so fan{tache}tic of you to come." Inside the boxes were mustache crayons, a “mustached” penguin bath mitt to go with the birthday boy’s favorite penguin book, and a game of Wooly Willy.

Growing up in the same town together, Brooke and Daniel did not connect until Brooke returned home from college for a visit with some old friends. And when they did meet up, they hit it off instantly and against all odds committed their lives to each other. On a warm summer day in Florida, her father walked her down the aisle to her future husband and was married by her grandfather, a retired pastor, under a mossy oak canopy. The reception took place in an historic schoolhouse, the BUCKINGHAM COMMUNITY CENTER, where guests mixed and mingled with the couple and enjoyed an Italian inspired dinner buffet, lemon cake pops and an ice cream bar. The couple then jetted off to their honeymoon in Naples, FL and Key Largo.

ENTRANCE The guests entered the ceremony and the bride started the walk down the aisle under an arbor handmade by her aunt. The couple then exchanged vows under a mossy oak canopy.


HANDMADE DETAILS Many handcrafted details were utilized throughout, including the silverware wraps and the "flowers" their friends and family threw over the couple, both made from the pages of a vintage dictionary.

DECOR The bride had many pretty and outrageous ideas for the tablescapes, and her aunt, from ISN’T SHE LOVELY FLORALS, took her ideas and just ran! It made the whole reception amazing.

THE CAKES A dear family friend of the bride made their delicious cake, which was a vibrant purple and covered in succulents. She also made the groom’s cake, which was designed to look like a snare drum since the groom plays the drums.

This chic affair was complimented with a vintage crib that was used as the gift table, hung with baby clothes of the daddy to be's two younger sisters, and a vintage cart which was used to display the classically splendid cake. Guests also enjoyed the dessert table adorned with sweets such as red velvet cake pops and strawberry rock candy and as described by the host, ‘the best ice cream bar ever.’

THEME A vintage shabby chic baby shower was right up the alley for the host, the daddy to be’s mother. She loves everything vintage and was super excited for her impending grandchild’s arrival. THE DRINKS Guests were treated with not only fabulous desserts, but the theme emanated throughout with pink lemonade adorned with pink striped straws served in mason jars and milk served in old fashioned milk glasses from an ice bin. Tres chic!

On September 8, 2012, Brittany and Kevin were married at the MARCO BEACH OCEAN RESORT in front of 75 of their closest friends and family. Their nineteen month old son danced his way down the aisle in a miniature replica of his dad’s Marine Corps Dress Blues and the two walked together into the next stage of their lives. Guests then dined on grilled salmon or beef filet and wedding cake. To keep the sugar rush going, guests then filled up bags from the couple's ‘thank you’ table with an assortment of delicious treats.

THE CAKE The cake was a wedding white cake with a homemade raspberry preserve and key lime custard on the first layer followed by vanilla bean mousse and fresh raspberries on the next, covered in buttercream icing and topped with sparkled fondant.


FAVORS Before leaving, guests were asked to fill bags with candy from the "Thank You" candy table that included pink marshmallows, York peppermint patties, grape fruit slices, cream colored M&M's, and strawberry saltwater taffy.

In this “From Bat Mitzvah to Broadway” themed celebration, DIVA WITH A FORK transformed the LOEWS DON CESAR HOTEL into a thespian’s paradise. As guests arrived at the ‘theatre’, they found their escort card cookies with different award winning show posters which led them to their respective table assignments with centerpieces adorned with a variety of pink-hued flowers and organza ribbon. After taking their seats and enjoying dinner, guests danced the night away in celebration of the guest of honor.

INVITATIONS A beautiful invitation truly sets the tone for what’s to come. The beautiful invitations created by NATURAL IMPRESSION DESIGN, showcased the guest of honor’s name, by laser cutting it into the main body of the invitation. This allowed the hot pink glitter cardstock resting below the paper to add pizazz, creating the subtle effect of the guest of honor’s name in lights. What Bat Mitzvah star wouldn't want her name in lights?


DECOR Flowers in pink hues adorned the base of glass risers draped with organza ribbon, stars and twinkling lights. Atop each centerpiece was an eyecatching, Playbill inspired sign, guiding guests to their seats. Stunning custom, laser-cut glitter menu cards were tucked inside the pocket of each adult’s light pink satin napkin.

Looking to incorporate both of their ethnic traditions, Amy and Josh went with a theme they called “Robakong”, a combination of both of their last names, as they were merging their two lives and family traditions into one personalized event. To achieve this perfect mix, the couple incorporated customs important to them with two ceremonies, a Western ceremony and a Chinese Tea Ceremony honoring Amy’s relatives. Amy also changed into a red Chinese Qipao, a long silk traditional dress, as her second dress. The couple and their guests then enjoyed Dim Sum alongside hors d’oeuvres served by the venue, RED FISH GRILL, and an organic, orange liqueur wedding cake baked by a bridesmaid and decorated by Josh’s mother.

FANS Guests received the double sided fan program (which was bilingual for the non-English speaking guests) when they arrived to the beach ceremony. The program fans explained both the Western ceremony and Chinese Tea ceremony, and introduced everyone involved.


FAMILY The couple's close friend, Jeff, played The Beatles song "Here Comes the Sun" on his acoustic guitar for the bride and her father’s walk down the aisle.

THE DRESS The white gown was a MAGGIE SOTERRO number from her Destination line. It was light, had a great flow and allowed the bride to move on the beach and outdoors. The dress was great mix of classic and modern elements. And since they were on the beach, the bride wore silver sandals!

LOCAL CELEBRATIONS THE WEDDING CAKE One of the bridesmaids, Amy, who loves baking and Josh's mother, a novice cake designer, collaborated to create the couple's wedding cake. It was an organic, orange liqueur cake with handmade gumpaste flowers and cake topper.

LOGO MAKE MERRY created the “Robakong” illustration and invitations, an inside joke among the couple and their friends, using a Robot and Monkey as the perfect combination for the couple!

FAVORS/TABLE CARDS The bamboo favors, which also doubled as the seat assignments for the guests, was a gift from a family friend with Amy creating and attaching the place cards using various hole punchers.

THE FOOD The guests were were not only treated with passed hors d'oeuvres from RED FISH GRILL, but the bride’s parents, Dim Sum chefs, provided assorted Chinese delights and comfort foods during the cocktail reception.

AVERY’S FIRST BIRTHDAY Boca Raton, Florida

Guests were treated to one ‘sweetheart’ of a party for Avery’s 1st birthday. Held at the BOCA RATON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM just after Valentines’ Day, guests arrived in the morning and had free reign of the entire museum and enjoyed time in different areas including a grocery store, bank and dress-up room. Guests crafted personal crowns and then were escorted to the party room which was decorated in a sweetheart theme. Guests then enjoyed treats ranging from cupcakes to heartshaped cookies and pink cake pops and serenaded the birthday girl in a sea of bubbles before she dove into her birthday cake.

DECOR The hanging wall of paper hearts was definitely a unique aspect of the decor and handcrafted! Stacey (Avery’s mom) bought several dozen different scrapbook papers in red, pink and heart-themed designs, and cut out over 300 paper hearts by hand, creating the wall of "floating" hearts (strung from clear fishing wire). Stacey also used the heart scrapbook paper to create paper flower pinwheels which were used in vases as the table centerpieces.


AVERY’S SWEET SHOPPE The dessert table ("Avery's Sweet Shoppe") was filled with goodies, including cupcakes, pink and red jellybeans, heart-shaped pretzels dipped in chocolate, pink cake pops, red licorice sticks, and heartshaped chocolates.

FOOD AND DRINKS Guests enjoyed popcorn chicken bites, pizza rolls and various sandwich wraps. And to drink, what else but...Pink Lemonade! Drinks were served in pink cups with chevron-striped straws which had hearts adhered to the top of the straw for a fun little twist. The kids loved their fun straws!

GOODY BAG Guests were given a "goody bag" of pink and red striped takeout boxes filled with candy and were able to add desserts including heart-shaped cookies, heart-shaped rice crispy treats dipped in chocolate, heart shaped strawberries and watermelon which were served on lollipop sticks. Yummy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY The most memorable moment for mom was, ‘singing Happy Birthday to Avery as all of the children blew bubbles at her’ and watching her face light up.

A work friendship developed into a relationship which then developed into a long distance romance and ultimately with a proposal for Susana and Brian. Opting for a destination wedding in St. Augustine, they exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony. Afterwards, guests were treated to a picturesque tour of the city via trolleys and then taken to the reception held at THE WHITE ROOM LOFT & ROOFTOP. Everyone danced the night away with music of THE RIVER TOWN BAND and nobody went hungry feasting on not only hors d’oeuvres, a sit down dinner and dessert but also late night snacks of mini kobe burgers and french fries. Yum.

TRADITIONS The couple incorporated many of their family traditions including having arras, or wedding unity coins which are used to symbolize the groom’s promise to support his family and celebratory cigars for the couple and their guests.

THE CAKE The cake, provided by THE PASTRY STUDIO, was a three tiered masterpiece with decadent layers of European raspberry, chocolate truffle and red velvet.

FIRST DANCE The bride's sisters got the couple dance lessons for their engagement gift and they had a choreographed rumba to Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am." THE GETAWAY The sparklers used for the couple's exit lasted extra long so they got to travel up and down the "tunnel" a few times. It also made for great photos!

In the fall of 2012, Samantha celebrated her Bat Mitzvah with a ‘purple and peace sign’ celebration at the HYATT REGENCY COCONUT POINT RESORT. The venue was bathed in the color purple, Samantha's favorite color since she was a little girl. The peace sign logo was incorporated in places like the escort table which was customized with her name in, what else, glitter adorned purple! After disco dancing the night away under hanging mirror balls, guests were treated to a bag of cookies accompanied by a customized milk glass bottle filled with either chocolate, plain or strawberry milk!

COLOR The guest of honor loves purple so instead of numbering the tables, they were named different shades of purple including amethyst, violet, plum, lilac and lavender. The tablecloths were a purple sequin cloth which shimmered when the light reflected on it.

After a lighthouse engagement in St. Augustine scripted for a princess, Jennifer and Eric married at CONGREGATION B’NAI ISRAEL in St. Petersburg, Florida where Jennifer’s grandparents have been members for over 60 years and Eric had his Bar Mitzvah. Escorted down the aisle by both her parents, Jennifer and Eric had a traditional Jewish ceremony held under a crystal chuppah. The reception followed in a quintessentially elegant locale, awash in gold and amber and decorated with a variety of centerpieces including one with candelabras with crystals embellished. After their kosher meal, guests were not only treated to decadent desserts including lava cake, vanilla shakes and apple crisp but also an amazing five tier wedding cake.

BOUQUETS The bride carried a bouquet of full, blooming flowers including ranunculus, roses, hydrangea, and garden roses, wrapped in ivory satin ribbon with crystal pins on the handle and throughout the flowers. While her flowers were mostly ivory, with touches of blush, her bridesmaids carried bouquets of mostly blush tones with a few touches of ivory. They were a beautiful combination of soft pink spray roses, ivory roses, and sahara roses.


RECEPTION The reception room was filled with elegance and warmth using warm tones, such as gold and amber, to flow throughout the room and using gold chargers and candelabras, as well as lots of candlelight and amber uplighting. To add some opulence, the sweetheart table was covered in a fully sequined gold linen, which, according to the wedding planner, weighed a ton!

STATIONERY The bride DIY'd all of the day of stationery, adding a touch of glam to the table numbers, table number holders, and baskets used to hold the yarmulkes and programs. The ivory linen paper used for the menus, programs, table numbers, and escort cards kept clean lines to mimic the invitation.

On December 9, 2012, Lisa’s friends gathered to celebrate the impending arrival of twins, a boy and a girl, with a special family tradition, an afternoon tea. An outdoor garden party, complete with pink and blue accents to celebrate the tiny guests of honor, was decked out with couches for lounging provided by AFR EVENT FURNISHINGS. Guests were encouraged to decorate two onesies (one boy and one girl) for the twins and enjoyed classic afternoon tea bites like English Tea Sandwiches and warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserves catered by PUFF ‘N STUFF CATERING.

DECOR The shower was an outdoor garden party and being pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, pink and blue accents were the perfect touch with couches provided by AFR EVENT FURNISHINGS to lounge on, and a catered lunch.


THEME The theme of the shower was a garden tea party, in honor of Lisa's late mother-in-law who loved afternoon tea. She passed on her favorite antique tea pot after learning that Lisa loved afternoon tea as much as she did. She passed away but she and Lisa's love for tea has been honored not only on the couples’ wedding day but now their baby shower.

THE FOOD The delicious and traditional tea party delights, provided by PUFF ‘N STUFF CATERING, included classic English tea sandwiches, Maryland crab cake and warm scones served with clotted cream and strawberry preserves. Yum!

Guests were mailed two onesies (one boy and one girl) with the invitation and were asked to decorate them for the shower in their unique style for the twins. It was a really fun surprise for Lisa to see all of the personalized outfits!

GUEST BOOK ALTERNATIVE Rather than signing a guest book, Lisa's friends were encouraged to help fill her inspiration wall in the home by leaving her notes with advice and special sentiments. Each guest left a special message and well wishes for the new babies.

Cristina and Freddy are a couple straight out of a fairytale. Seven years after attending the same high school, they reconnected via Facebook and have been inseparable ever since. After the ultimate fairytale proposal at Cinderella’s castle, the couple exchanged vows in front of 130 guests and had a fabulous and opulent reception at the FOUR SEASONS HOTEL MIAMI. White floral arrangements with silver and crystal accents created an environment fit for a princess. After enjoying cocktails poolside, guests were treated in the Grand Ballroom to dinner and toasts to the newlyweds. The party got started with a “La Hora Loca”, Spanish for ‘the crazy hour’, with tons of props, including maracas, neon blow up inflatable instruments, and noise makers provided by the couple. What a fun way to start your life together.
