Palace Café 605 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70130 >>>Housed in the historic Werlein’s music building, they have won a number of local and national awards for their contemporary Creole cuisine. The first and second floor dining rooms can be used in addition to the 3 private dining rooms on the third floor, for a maximum capacity of 500 guests. Bananas Foster is on their regular menu and it should be on yours too.

Tableau 616 St Peter, New Orleans, LA 70116 >>>Offering private dining rooms, a balcony overlooking Jackson Square and a traditional New Orleans style courtyard, this Dickie Brennan’s restaurant is a Creole favorite. If you’re not a huge fan of cake or want to serve something different than groom’s cake, we suggest their Tarte a la Bouille, a custard milk tart that is sure to be a hit!

Court of Two Sisters 613 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70130 >>>This famous restaurant has been under current ownership for almost 60 years but the history of this building dates back to the 1700’s. They have the largest outdoor dining courtyard in the city in addition to private dining rooms and entrances on both Bourbon and Royal Streets, for a maximum capacity of 500 guests. We strongly suggest adding a Jazz Brunch at Court of Two Sisters to your wedding itinerary.

Galatoire’s 209 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70130 >>>With eight private dining areas and balconies overlooking Bourbon Street, Galatoire’s is also connected to their sister restaurant, Galatoire’s “33” Bar & Steak. All of the private dining spaces can be accessed from either restaurant and you may use the menu from either restaurant in any of the private dining rooms, giving you a wide variety of food and ambiance options for your guests. Reception-style events in the private dining rooms can host up to 250 guests, or a restaurant buyout for larger groups is also an option. When selecting your options from their private dining menus, make sure to include their Pompano with Sautéed Crab Meunière, a local and NOW Weddings favorite.

Felicity Church 1220 Felicity St, New Orleans, LA 70130 >>>A church since the mid-1800’s, the current building was erected in 1888 after a fire destroyed the original structure. After being heavily damaged in Hurricane Katrina, the building sat empty until 2011 when the current owners, Chris Jones and Jessica Walker, purchased it and began the renovation ahead of their own 2013 wedding in the church, the first there in over a decade. Jess, an architect specializing in historic rehabilitation, worked with Chris for the next 3 years on the venue and in 2016 it was fully renovated and opened as a meeting space and event venue for up to 300 guests.

Pitot House Museum 1440 Moss St, New Orleans, LA 70119 >>>Built in 1799, Pitot House is one of the few West Indies-style houses remaining in Louisiana. The Pitot House was home to the first U.S. Mayor of New Orleans, James Pitot, and his family. In 1971, The Pitot House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Their 10,000 sq ft lawn can host up to 300 guests along with an additional 100 guests on the first floor of the home itself. NOW Weddings Creative Director, Rena Sweeney, has planned beautiful ceremonies for her Alchemy Events clients on the historic Magnolia Bridge on Bayou St. John across the street followed by receptions at Pitot House.

Old Ursuline Convent 1100 Chartres St, New Orleans, LA 70116 >>>The Old Ursuline Convent was erected in 1745 and occupied until 1824 by Ursuline nuns as a convent, orphanage and school for girls. This historic building is now home to a museum surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens in New Orleans. According to the National Parks Service, “This is the finest surviving example of French Colonial public architecture in the country, Louis XV in style, formal and symmetrical, with restrained ornament.” The grounds not only offer indoor and outdoor space but also boasts an 80x40 ft tent in the back gardens, ensuring even your outdoor event will be protected from the unpredictable New Orleans weather.

Marigny Opera House 725 St Ferdinand St, New Orleans, LA 70117 >>Holy Trinity Church was built on the site in 1848 but in 1851 it was destroyed by fire. Rebuilt in 1853, it operated until it’s deconsecreation in 1997. It was purchased by the current owners in 2011 and renamed Marigny Opera House, a “church of the arts” with it’s own resident dance company. Famous for hosting celebrities such as Solange, Lake Bell, and Michelle Branch’s wedding to Patrick Carney, this historic church also features a beautiful outdoor space and proceeds from the space support New Orleans artists through their foundation.

Tremé Market Branch 800 N Claiborne Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116 >>>Originally built as a bank in 1925, Tremé Market Branch was restored in 2012 and has since served as a Cultural Arts Theater and special events venue. Located in the heart of one of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhoods, historic Faubourg Tremé, this nearly 100 year old building features a lavish gold chandelier and soaring arched windows with lots of vintage charm. Featured in our Pointe editorial for the October 2020 issue, we love the architecture and charm this historic building has to offer!

Latrobe’s on Royal 403 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 >>>Latrobe’s on Royal, originally built in 1822 as the Louisiana State Bank, is named after its Architect: Benjamin Henry Latrobe, the “Father of American Architecture. Elements such as the whisper dome, the Bank Vault and original stonework create a stunning backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

NOPSI Hotel 317 Baronne St, New Orleans, LA 70112 >>>NOPSI Hotel, located in the former headquarters of the New Orleans Public Service, Inc., is now a New Orleans gathering place. The Dryades Ballroom features exposed brick, arched windows and 30 foot ceilings. Chandeliers add a touch of elegance and sparkle to this space which also is home to the room’s original crane and tracks which transported transformers to storage vaults for repair in bygone days. Many other original features of the building, including stone flooring and counter areas once visited by NOPSI patrons to pay their

>>>Located in Mid City, The Cannery was built between 1965 and 1970 and functioned as the warehouse space for the American Can Company until it’s closure in 1988. In 2012, the space was renovated to become an event venue and NOW Weddings Creative Director and Alchemy Events owner Rena Sweeney was brought in to consult on the renovation ahead of the opening. She hosted her own wedding there in 2016. “While we had an intimate wedding with less than 100 guests, the large space at The Cannery allowed us to host our ceremony, cocktail hour and four hour reception with ease. The built in lighting and sound systems made it easy to seamlessly incorporate our aesthetic as well,” says Sweeney. The Cannery features an outdoor patio with greenery wall and festoon lighting, an elegant foyer, lounge, ballroom and couple’s suite. With a capacity of up to 999 guests, the space features the original warehouse concrete floors, stained and scored to preserve the history while enhancing their beauty.
