THEIR STORY

Jude and I met in November of 2015. I was on a road trip with some friends checking out colleges and different states in the South. I came across Jude in my travels. He took me and my friends on a boat ride to find alligators and I found myself falling for him rather quickly. I went back home and we kept in touch via facetime and phone calls.

After months of long distance, and a couple of trips back and forth between us, I decided to apply for Nicholls State University.

A few months later, I found myself moving to Louisiana in order to pursue my degree in Education and also fell in love with this Cajun man of my dreams.

5 years of dating and 3 dogs later, Jude proposed to me at my parents home on 4th of July in Northridge, Ca. I said yes instantly and in the midst of a pandemic we began planning our big, fat, Punjabi-Cajun Wedding! - Chanpreet

A MIX OF TWO CULTURES “We mixed both of our cultures together to make our wedding dreams come true,” shares Chanpreet. “I am Punjabi, Indian and Jude is full on Cajun. We managed to infuse both of our traditions and give our friends and family the perfect balance of both cultures. My friends and family flew out from Los Angeles, Ca while Jude’s friends and family drove out from Lockport, La. Everything was enmeshed perfectly!

This wedding was truly one for the books and such a beautiful celebration of cultures. It was such an inspiring coming together of different cultures. From Punjabi to Cajun to New Orleans, we all became one by the end of the night!”

THEIR FAVORITE THINGS “My favorite part was definitely the Second Line to close out the night!” shares Chanpreet. “It gave all of us such a New Orleans only experience! Jude’s favorite part was saying our vows to each other, which I of course loved too!”

Centerpieces included framed notes handwritten by Chanpreet’s students - each child wrote what they thought love is.
