Wow, November already.! Where has the year gone? NODA is busy finishing our 2019 events and making plans for next year. Our long-time webmaster extraordinaire, Linda Cooley, is retiring this year. NODA Elections were for the 2020/2021 Board of Directors October 20 through November 3. I hope you all took the time to place your votes. Many members took advantage of the new ONLINE voting option which was quick and easy to do. Members without e-mails voted with a mailed ballot. The USDF L Education Program successfully hosted by NODA, was completed this in October. Our sincere appreciation goes to our organizer, Dee Liebenthal, the program participants, volunteers, test demo riders, all the session venues: Blue Ridge Stables, Endeavor Farm, and Topline Stables. Are you going to the November 24 Year-End Awards Banquet Celebration? It is fast approaching and I hope to see many of you there. This will be a fun banquet. You’ll hear the election results, have opportunities to win raffle prizes, silent auction and chinese auction items, coveted year-end NODA awards and trophies, and so much more! It’s a great time to catch up with friends and cheer for the year-end award and scholarship recipients. Hopefully you are one of them! Want more information about NODA events? Check out our USDF Award Winning website, www.nodarider.org, or follow us on Facebook page, Twitter, or Instagram. Happy Thanksgiving to All! Barb

Adult Amateur Spotlight Regina Sacha-Ujczo Arabella – My Dream Horse! My picturesque Arabella is now 23 years old and is and will always be my “dream lifetime horse.” Ten years ago, when USET rider, Heather Blitz retired Arabella from International FEI Competition I was first in line to purchase her and selected as her “forever home.” Beautiful Arabella was talented beyond my riding ability. She gives me her talent and I shower her with love and personal care that only a “Princess” deserves. Arabella is a Danish Rambo daughter and definitely filled with his presence, talent and nobility. Regina Sacha-Ujczo competing Arabella. Photo by Regina Linder. She has taught me many things - to ride with more seat and finesse, exposed me to a worldclass piaffe and an extended trot similar to a Lear jet takeoff! She also has bolted (more than once) in the middle of a Grand Prix test, but I cherish all that she is and has given me for I have fulfilled a life’s dream to ride Grand Prix. It took way too many years to figure out some of her magic buttons, but it was never about winning. Always about the journey. I will cherish these memories and Princess Arabella for the rest of my life.
