In response to Bruce Nussbaum's bizzare, and unfortunate antidesign campaign in 2007 entitled "Are Designers the Enemy of Design?" NextD Journal invited its global subscribers to cocreate a response.
With the graduate design school leaders, professional design association leaders, and design magazine leaders all missing in action it was not the design "communities" finest hour. Many chose to lay under the Nussbaum bus. NextD did not.
Organized rapidly with no budget by the NextD Journal team Beautiful Diversion became the only organized response to Nussbaum's loopy and unconstructive antidesign campaign.
Beautiful Diversion became a legendary success that continues to interest our readers.
