ntegrated Pain and Neuroscience (IPN) has expanded to the heart of Uptown New Orleans at 2801 Napoleon Avenue. The Napoleon Avenue facility features an acupuncture suite, a procedure suite Dr. Friedman, for fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided Dr. O’Leary, intervention and convenient parking. In Dr. Royster (Left to Right) addition to this flagship clinic, IPN offers locations in Marrero, Chalmette, and Slidell. IPN was founded in 2013 by Eric Royster, MD to provide the most comprehensive pain management experience in the region. The staff consists of practitioners in neurology, psychiatry, orthopedics and acupuncture. “Our goal is to provide a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach for those suffering from chronic painful conditions of any kind. We understand that pain is unique to each individual. The more options we can offer, the more people we can ultimately help,”says Royster. Prior to founding IPN, Royster served as the Medical Director of Pain Management at a major regional hospital and trained many physicians entering the field. As a board certified and fellowship trained pain physician he is well versed in all manner of medical and interventional pain management techniques. He was the first physician in the area to offer minimally invasive lumbar decompression, peripheral stimulation for headache and facial pain, and medical acupuncture for chronic pain. Joining Royster at IPN are Andrea O-Leary, MD, a specialist in both adult and child psychiatry; Aaron J. Friedman, MD, a neurologist also trained in medical acupuncture; and Kim Adkins, PA-C, a physician assistant with experience in treating orthopedic complaints and disorders of the spine. IPN offers treatment for chronic pain including disorders of the spine, neurologic disorders and headache. In most cases, appointments are available within the week. In some cases, advanced treatments, including acupuncture and spinal interventions, may be available same day as the initial consultation appointment.
