Mother’s day is always the second Sunday in May. This year it is May 11.
In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared Mother’s Day a National Holiday.
The Calendar of Events is published monthly by the Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Council. To be listed, an event must be open to the public and of interest to visitors. Submissions must be received in written form by the 15th of each month. Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to edit the content of submissions.

Piney Woods Wine Festival Mount Vernon Downtown Plaza Comprised of the 17 wineries that make up the Piney Woods Wine Trail. From the sweet to the bold and everything in between, it can all be found here. Admission is $5 per person and tastings are $1 each. Wine is available by the tasting, the glass, or the bottle.
