Performance Of Our Mentoring Schools Three (3) Basic Schools were mentored for the Academic Year 2017-2018; Baby Grand E.C.D.C., Little Angels E.C.I. and Reg Keiz’s E.C.D.C.. Forty-one (41) students across the three schools were transitioning to Grade 1 in September. The data highlights their performance results in Alphabet Knowledge, Word Recognition, Oral Reading and Comprehension. At the Initial Assessment, no child was at the Mastery Level. However, tremendous progress was achieved by the end of the academic year. At Final Assessment in Overall Literacy achievement, 22 students were at Mastery, 6 Near Mastery and 11 between Some and No Competence. Of the numbers in this range, 9 were in the Pull Out Programme and one referred for further evaluation at MICO Care Centre. We are buoyed by these accomplishments and will continue to bolster the teachers’ instructional skills, so that they in turn can make a positive impact on our children.
