Weight Loss Tips and Truths If you want to lose weight or maintain your weight, then you must be CONSISTENT.

HERE’S HOW: • Use a program to help you track what you eat. MyFitnessPal.com is a great online program, but use what works for you. • Only allow yourself a + or - 10 lb swing from your ideal weight. Talk to your doctor or decide for yourself at which weight you feel attractive, powerful and positive. • To commit to a 10-lb swing, that means you need to weigh yourself at least 3x a week and perhaps more. • Exercise is essential for good health and weight loss. Find some form of exercise you like to do. Say no to more commitments until you make daily exercise a habit. • Don’t eat after 8pm unless you absolutely have to. Eating late at night not only adds pounds, it also works against rest and sleep patterns. • Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into everything you eat, since most of us don’t get enough vitamins and fiber. Spinach with eggs; berries with oatmeal. • Reduce processed foods. Cereal, crackers, chips, cakes, donuts, cookies, pretzels…start by eliminating them one at a time. Watch your rounded belly go away. • Get a water bottle with measurements. Watch how much water you drink and drink more. Do you know that drinking too little water mimics the feeling of hunger and also makes your body retain water? • Nothing is off-limits. Just incorporate those things into your calorie plan every day. Plan for it. • If you fall off it for a day, accept that you are still learning how to best serve yourself and get right back to it. Start with one thing on this list and make it a habit. Then go to the next one. Research says we can only process and complete 1-2 new goals at a time.
