OPEN YOUR OPTIONS WITH With Metro Continuing Education’s Summer School, you can complete a 5-credit high school course in four weeks! Choose from a variety of 10-, 20- and 30level subjects to complete required courses, upgrade your marks or create more flexibility in next year’s timetable. Summer School courses are also open to students who need to complete their high school courses for post-secondary pursuits. In addition to Summer School, Metro offers a variety of academic classes for students of all ages throughout the school year. AUGUST 4 - 13 Diploma exams at Harry Ainlay High School (see exam schedule on page 4) For Summer School 2020, current EPSB students will access Final Progress Reports on SchoolZone after August 1. Metro will mail Final Progress Reports to out of Division students the first week of August. Diploma exam marks from Alberta Education will be available on myPASS approximately 3 ½ weeks after writing.

Learn industryrelated skills, gain practical experience and prepare for the next step in your career pathway. These programs are open to students who have completed grade 9 to students completing grade 12. Weld, meld and create with Artistic Welding, zoom into the entertainment and news industry with Filmmaking 101, express your flair for hair in Shear Genius, or create 2D and 3D masterpieces in the Art & Design Lab. Do you have an interest in the field of education, child care or recreation? Gain work experience by engaging with students in Metro Continuing Education’s Grades 1-9 Summer Enrichment Camps. Learn about planning, implementing and leading children’s programming in fun and educational camps this summer! You will work a minimum of 75 hours and earn 3 credits. Interested in summer camps or want to discuss other opportunities to gain work experience credits this summer? Call Metro at 780.428.1111 to make an appointment. Registration approval is required. ** Withdrawals: If you withdraw before your class begins your $40 program fee will be withheld. If you complete a withdrawal form after the starting date of class, but before the start of the 4th class, over 20 students only will be refunded 50 percent of their tuition fees. The $40 program fee will be withheld. No refunds will be issued after the 4th class. The $100 textbook deposit, if applicable, will be refunded upon return of books.

CANCELLATIONS

Metro reserves the right to cancel any class. All efforts will be made to accommodate the student at another site. If Metro cancels a class, a full refund will be issued. Refunds take up to four weeks for processing through Edmonton Public Schools Financial Services.

Transfers A $40 processing fee per class is charged for a student-requested transfer.

Course Load One 5-credit course or two 3-credit courses is a maximum load for summer learning. For classroom-based courses full attendance is required and is essential for success.

Attendance For classroom-based courses, students must attend all classes. Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal. A final mark will not appear on transcripts of students who withdraw on or before the 4th class.
