A Peaceful Soul

By Rich Ralston In a world of chaos and confusion, most people have gathered a web of experiences that influence their emotional state of being. Our perspective about our purpose in life can become frustrated and confused. Our outer surroundings often prevent us from finding a place or time to get relief from life’s challenges, while our inner selves can distract us with a turmoil of thoughts and emotions. Meditation is the tool that I use to find inner peace. Meditation allows me to release the inner turmoil of thoughts and emotions. The key is finding the time and place that allows you to focus your mind on releasing disturbing thoughts. Thoughts create emotions, and emotions create emotional behavior. The first step is to identify the thoughts that are creating disturbing emotions. The next step is to understand that the energy that is holding our thought patterns can be released and replaced with new thoughts. The new thoughts will create new beneficial emotions. Our souls understand our life purpose. When we eliminate disturbing emotions, we allow our mind to be illuminated by our soul. This often can be a stepping stone that leads to inner peace. I have found that inner peace begins with communicating with our soul. The soul is the center of our consciousness that holds the memory of our past lives and serves as an advisor to help us fulfill our life’s purpose. In my book, I share techniques I use that are designed to identify unwanted thoughts and emotions that are troubling our souls. These thoughts can be released and replaced with beneficial ones, allowing our souls to experience inner peace. Rich Ralston is a clairvoyant energy worker and healer. Practicing Peace

By Bre Wolfe Inner peace is always inside us. We all can connect with that peace in a single breath. We become what we think about. My teachers taught me mantras such as, “I am loving awareness” and “I see the best in everyone all the time” (one of my favorites). The more I repeat these loving words, the easier it is to feel and to be them. When I bring deep concentration to my mantras, the energy in these words permeate my being and my experience even more powerfully. I dedicate the last five minutes of meditation to mantras. I practice until I physically feel what I am affirming deep in my body. Then when I’m off my cushion, going through my day, I more easily access and feel these truths because I practiced them in silence. For example, I used to be self-conscious walking the beach in my bathing suit and I used to feel shy with people I didn’t know. Now, I’m so busy being loving awareness that all I notice on the beach is the beautiful experience of what the seaside offers. I notice details — how the sand feels like brown sugar in my toes, and how cool and refreshing the breeze feels on my body. And when I meet new people now, I’m so focused on seeing the best in them that my insecurities go unnoticed. That’s because no matter what I am doing, in the background I am still saying, “I am loving awareness” or “I see the best in everyone.” I can physically see how beautiful we all are and I literally see the world through eyes of loving awareness. In gratitude to my teachers, this practice keeps me in peace. Bre is a 500-hour Yoga Alliance yoga teacher and certified professional integrative life coach.
