KENILWORTH KENILWORTH’S LIVING TREASURES A CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

outstanding local environment, reminding us of just how lucky we are to live in this beautiful part of Queensland.

T

he Kenilworth and District Chamber of Commerce and Citizens Inc is calling for nominations for the 2010 Living Treasure. This is an opportunity to recognise someone who is valued by the community, someone who has been of service to our community. It will include someone who still resides in our beautiful township or surrounding areas as well as people who have recently moved away. Closing date for nominations is 24 November with presentations made at the Annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas function, held 8 December 2010. Please forward nominations with: • Name of nominee. • Why the nominee would make a kenilworth living treasure. • An outline of what they have done for/in the community.

On a more serious note, “Saving Mary” was judged the Best Film in the Festival - a truly inspiring work by Marc Bright, Judy Stark and Shaun Jarvey, depicting the struggle against the proposed Traveston Crossing Dam. All agreed that the highlights of the Festival were the Students’ films, with “Newton’s Laws of Motion” by Lightning Ridge Students, and “Wildlife Adventure with David Attenburger” by local lad Tanis Fulcher providing some brilliant humour to get their story across. “When It’s Gone” by Lightning Ridge Primary Students, and “Shiny Alumina” from Mayfield State School, Qld dealt with more serious problems confronting our society. Both were outstanding examples of short filmmaking that told their story clearly and precisely and illustrated a depth of talent of which we can be proud. The People’s Choice Award was won by “When It’s Gone” (pictured), also the winner of the Best Student Film. Well done you primary school kids!

This outline of approximately 200 to 300 words would include service to community organisations or other voluntary work, business association, sporting activities, special talents or simply how, by being who they are, the community thinks they are great. Nominations to be sent to Kenilworth Living Treasures, Kenilworth and District Chamber of Commerce and Citizens Inc., PO Box 69, Kenilworth 4574. This is the twelfth year of Kenilworth Living Treasures and the names below are listed on a plague for all to see at the Kenilworth Public Hall.

The aim of the Festival was to “entertain, inform and inspire”. I believe it did just that. Kev Franzi Timeline Film Festival Director

most enthusiastic response followed each screening of Kenilworth’s first Short Film Festival Timeline 2010. Judging by the applause at each session the audience enjoyed the quality and variety of the films shown. This ranged from the wonderful humour of Valerie Willy’s ceramic sculptures to superbly photographed Tasmanian seagulls by Jackie Smith (her seagull ballet was a highlight of the film). Somewhere in the middle Ian Mackay’s droll humour illustrated “My Little Problem”. Other films captured a variety of family adventures in our

KENILWORTH A Big Day Out

Cheryl Connors from Maryborough, along with two Granddaughters from Brisbane, were truly delighted to find Kenilworth Town Park. We spent such a fun time at the park which has great facilities. The community and the council are to be congratulated on providing such a fine place for locals and visitors to enjoy. Cheryl Connors

MV Classic CAR CLUB WELCOMES ALL

D

o you love cars? Muscle, sports, classic or family? Our small friendly MV Classic Car Club is for anyone who has a car. We meet every three months to discuss the next “run”.

I

t was an early start to the day for the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students of Kenilworth State Community College recently when they set off to the ‘big smoke’ for a day of culture and fun! The day started at 7.30am with a 2½ hour bus ride to Brisbane to watch a play performed at the Gardens Theatre in the Botanical Gardens. The bus ride through the city was a highlight in itself as the children excitedly pointed out tunnels, bridges, highrises, trains etc. A trip to Brisbane is not a common occurrence for many of our students and the awe and wonder in their faces was truly rewarding. “An Urban Fairytale” proved to be funny and spellbinding as the children were dazzled by unusual sound effects and amazed by magic tricks! The students are studying fairytales this term and this was a great introduction to the differing styles of stories and storytelling. The children also enjoyed a picnic, play and wander in the Botanic Gardens with many of the children asking to take photos of the garden beds to “take home and show Mum”.

Situated in a rural setting it is a goal of the College to provide diverse and interesting opportunities for the students to experience. Through camps such as our Ekka camp and excursions like these, we aim to offer a broader knowledge of the world around us. Country kids will always be country kids though, thank goodness, as one of our younger students so aptly illustrated. Driving through the city with roads and bridges and buildings everywhere she remarked “Oh! I love that tree”, pointing to the one and only tree to be seen at the time!

good sized crowd turned out to Oakey Creek Road, near Kenilworth, for the recent Open Day at “Quinlans”, the property now owned and managed by the Australian Koala Foundation. In welcoming the visitors, AKF CEO Deborah Tabart OAM said she was keen that the local community be involved in the vision for the property. “There are exciting possibilities we’d like to see offered here,” she said. “ The property has considerable ecological value but, as well as this, we’d like to see it as a model for sustainable living.” “We’ve already had discussions with conservation volunteers, several teams of which have been working on projects in the Mary Valley for the past few months,” she added, “but we really want local ideas and involvement as well.” Ian Mackay Photo by Glenbo Craig of Barry Scott, founder of the Australian Koala Foundation (AKF); Deborah Tabart, CEO of AKF; Gympie Councillor Julie Walker. KENILWORTH An Unforgettable Character

R

ecently a friend was asked to write a report on her memories of high school years for a reunion and she described one of those “unforgettable” people in her life - one of her teachers. I am sure we have all met someone like that - someone who touched our lives. One such person in my life was Aunty Kate. She was not a blood relative - but was Aunty Kate to so many in this district in the 1940’s - 60’s.

Aunty Kate was Mrs Perc Adams and lived in the house just up the hill from St Matthews Church. Prior to her marriage to Perc Adams (brother of Stan, Artie and Joe) she was Katherine Murphy from the Canungra/Beaudesert area. At the time of my birth my mother received a three page letter from Aunty Kate congratulating her on my safe arrival. My mother had only met Aunty Kate on one occasion prior to my birth - but she was thrilled to receive such a warm and welcoming letter. Each year after that I received a birthday card from Aunty Kate and on the birth of my own daughter I received a small gift and note of welcome. This act of kindness was repeated many times over to families right across the district and beyond.

At one time Aunty Kate was admitted to hospital in Gympie and the Post Office had to employ an additional postman especially to deliver all the “get well” cards to Mrs Perc Adams at the hospital. Aunty Kate had a great sense of humour and loved a good joke - her laugh could often be heard at community functions - everyone recognised it and knew that Aunty Kate had heard a good story or told one. She was a founding member of the Country Women’s Association in Kenilworth. She was dedicated to her own faith - but her Christianity knew no bounds. She provided meals for the Church of England ministers visiting St Matthews for many years without ever having met the Reverend gentlemen. Aunty Kate was also keeper of the local happenings - she knew who was ill, who was anticipating a new arrival and the birthdays of everyone in her circle of care. She was blessed with an amazing memory and during her latter years when she was robbed of her sight this skill enabled her to hide this disability from all who met her. If you have any “Aunty Kate” stories please put them on paper and forward them to PO Box 166, Kenilworth Q 4574 or email them to lenore.meldrum@bigpond.com On the photo above Aunty Kate and Lenore’s Dad.

benefit to the community. The more the work is spread around, the less everyone has to do. Not to mention it is a lot of fun!” Anyone interested in volunteering can lodge their details on the website, www.christmasincooroy.com.au Details and entry forms for the Bendigo Bank Street Parade, the Cooroy Central Guardian Pharmacy Photo Competition and the Noosa to Hinterland Plumbing Group Great Santa Race are all available on the website also.

T

he Christmas in Cooroy celebration is a highlight of Cooroy’s social calendar. The event attracts approximately 5000 people to Cooroy to enjoy the Bendigo Bank Street Parade, the Noosa to Hinterland Plumbing Group Great Santa Race, free rides, Santa visit, fireworks and entertainment. This year, the theme for the Bendigo Bank Street Parade is Masquerade. “We chose this theme to add some extra colour to the event. And people in Cooroy love to dress up, so we thought this was a great way that everyone could easily participate. Masquerade immediately brings to mind the Carnivale and Venetian masks but there are also lots of costumes that fit in also. It is really only limited by your imagination. We started receiving entries for the parade the same day we released the entry forms so we are expecting the best show ever,” explained event manager, Danielle Taylor. “We’ve also expanded the program this year. On Friday 3 December, we will be having an exhibition opening of the Cooroy Central Guardian Pharmacy “My Favourite Things” Photo Competition at the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre. This will be followed by the official turning on of the town’s Christmas lights and the Christmas Tree decorated by Ri-con Contractors at the roundabout outside the Cooroy RSL. On Saturday, we kick off the day with a Poet’s Breakfast (our only ticketed event) at Cooroy Hotel. And then from 4pm until 10pm we have a full program centred around Apex Park and the Cooroy Lower Mill Site. We’ve also incorporated additional entertainment to the program this year.” “We are also looking for volunteers to help out with doing the town’s Christmas decorations on 27 November and helping out in the afternoons on 3 and 4 December. Even just giving an hour of your time is greatly appreciated as this is now quite a significant event that provides such

OUR COMMUNITY Tall Trees 2010 Brooloo Cooran Christmas

I

t was the 10th of the 10th of the 10th and it all started at 10 am. Cooran was definitely the place to be. With howling winds and driving rain everywhere else on the coast, we enjoyed only light showers for most of the day. While the adults sheltered under marquees listening to great music and eating delicious food, the kids had the time of their lives with Clown Man (alias Brad Smith) and Fairy Princess Kate learning how to make dogs and other shapes out of balloons, having their faces painted and playing games throughout the day culminating in the Decorate-a-bike competition. A march past the main stage to the cheering crowds revealed the hard work kids and their mum’s and dad’s had put into producing their individual works of art on wheels. After making the final decision to carry on with the things we could and cancel the things that for safety reasons we could not, we set up marquees, PA, tables and chairs. We focused everything in the one area – Pioneer Park – and used the extra marquees for shelter from the rain in front of the stage. We went ahead with a smaller program of music from local musicians, a selection of stalls from the few brave vendors who faced the elements to come, and the indigenous contingency who performed the Welcome to Country from the stage and then held a group of 15 or more in awe as Dr Eve Fesl told her stories in the quiet of the living room of number 6 King Street. The food was great, the music varied and enjoyable. The Art Exhibition was world class, with more than 70 pieces in the exhibition.

Twilight Market

B

Broolo

o

rooloo community would like to invite everyone to our Brooloo Christmas Twilight Market, held at the Brooloo hall grounds on Sunday the 14 November. It will be starting around 3pm, and will go on until late. You will be able to find arts and crafts made by local artists and craftsmen/craftswomen, home-grown produce, as well as some bric-a-brac. Anyone that is Brooloo Hall Community Centre member can have a stall for free, and if you are not a member, join us, it only costs $2 for a whole year. The stall bookings will be accepted until 7 of November. Also, if you are a creative person, come help us decorate the carriage and Brooloo Hall grounds with Christmas lights and cheer on the morning of 14 November. If you think you lack creativity, come anyway and keep us cheerful company. Brooloo Hall Community Centre will have a bric-a-brac stall to help the community to raise more funds towards the restorations of the carriage. If you have any unwanted items to add to the Brooloo Hall stall, please do let us know. Any help is always appreciated. To book your stall, or if you have any other queries regarding the Brooloo Christmas Twilight Market, please ring Marie on 5488 6484.

The Noosa Pipe band came out in force to herald the morning, filling Cooran with their haunting sounds, and beckoning the locals to get out of bed and face the rain. We are so grateful to all of you who came out to enjoy the culmination of months of hard work. The commitment and enthusiasm of all those involved in the organisation of Tall Trees was infectious. People came and went all day and enjoyed the ambience. The convoy record only reached six but now the challenge is out for any one to try and beat it.

YOGA AT BROOLOO Small group classes promote selfeducation and general well-being. Whilst honouring each student’s ability as much as possible. Classes are held in a private studio Tuesday and Thursday nights in Brooloo. Personal tuition by appointment. Call Maureen on 5484 5848.

Keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming events and we’ll try to get the workshops and the skate event happening in conjunction with the Cooran Eco Markets some time in November. For more information, contact Ainsley Apirana at steveainsley@aapt.net.au See photos on colour page 12

OUR COMMUNITY USE IT OR LOSE Gheerul GHEERULLA HALL? la

E

ach year, on the first Friday in December the Gheerulla Hall holds its Cent Auction. For many, it is a social outing and a chance to bid for wonderful prizes. For the Gheerulla Hall it is a lifeline. All funds raised on this evening go to paying the insurances that enable this facility to remain open and available for members of this community. The extremely small committee that organises and runs the Cent Auction is in great need of more workers - to gather the prizes or work on the night. To this end there will be a meeting in the Gheerulla Hall on Saturday 30 October at 10 am - please consider attending in a bid to keep this community resource open. We desperately need your help. Each time you drive past the hall on the corner of Moy Pocket Road and Eumundi-Kenilworth Rd, picture it as a paddock minus the hall building because without more community support this may well happen. inema Pomona Film Society meets every 2nd Tuesday evening at 7pm at the old Scout Den/new Lion’s Den, Cnr. Mountain and Hospital Streets, Pomona. The film chosen for Tuesday 2 November is “The Letter” (USA 1940 M - 95 mins). As our first ‘classic’ film in this series, we have chosen “The Letter”, a 1940 film starring Bette Davis, who is brilliant in this version of a Somerset Maugham story set in colonial Malaysia. It is a melodrama of murder, lies, intrigue and coverup. Directed by William Wyler. Critics of the time praised this film highly.

rigor Bridge damage Once I was notified about the damage to the Grigor Bridge at Conondale I raised the matter with the Main Roads Department. I have been advised that flood waters have caused a structural problem, and I have now taken the issue up with the Minister’s office. I have advised the Minister that this is a vitally important hinterland link road, and asked that he prioritises the allocation of whatever resources are needed so that the link road can be opened as soon as possible. Flood-water signage danger I have heard from a number of locals who have shared their concerns about missing flood-water signs in low-lying areas or signage that appears to have been tampered with so the flood levels are unclear to road users. In light of the recent heavy rains I have written to the Council and asked that they check the local floodwater level signs in low-lying areas around the region and consider the installation of more permanent style floodwater indicator. Koala protection In Parliament I put a question to the Minister for Sustainability Kate Jones - will she support the listing of Queensland koalas as an endangered species so they can be better protected under Commonwealth Legislation. Unfortunately the minister can take up to a month to respond, though I see no reason why she needs to take this long. I do have a concern that the development industry will continue to apply pressure to the State Government opposing this designation because of the possible impact it may have on their potential to continue to develop current koala habitat areas. I will let everyone know about the response. Obi Obi Road Landslip I recently inspected the site of the Obi Obi Road landslip road repairs and met with workers on site. Repair work is going well, and I hope that the wet weather will not significantly disrupt the work in the next few weeks. If all goes well we may be able to open one lane to traffic beside the landslip next month. The workers are doing the best they can in difficult circumstances. As well as the severity of the landslip, it has proven to be a very difficult and unstable site due mainly to the unusual rock formation in the area. Meet me in Cooroy To organise an appointment call my Nambour office on 5441 6933. MP Peter Wellington

hours when licences and registrations business will be conducted. Please attend during these hours to avoid a wasted trip.

W

e have received a number of complaints recently about bicycle riders failing to wear bicycle helmets while riding in public places and on roads. Bicycle riders are reminded that it is an offence to ride a bicycle on a road, footpath or in a public place while not wearing a helmet which is securely fastened. It is baffling when we see riders carrying their helmets on the handle bars. The fine is $100.

It appears as though we will have to start confiscating bicycles from juveniles who refuse to wear helmets. The bicycle will be taken and will be returned when the rider attends the Police Station with a parent. Parents should ensure that their children wear bicycle helmets and further action may be taken against persistent offenders. Recently, a young person who was not wearing a helmet was seriously injured in a collision with a motor car. The head injuries suffered by the child would have been less serious if a helmet was worn. This proves that it is a safety issue as much as a legal one. The Imbil Rural Watch recently celebrated 20 years of service to the Imbil Police Division. Rob Priebe has been Area Co-ordinator of the watch since its inception and Julie Walker and Ted Barnes are also foundation members who have contributed 20 years continuous service. This service is voluntary. All three are to be congratulated for their dedicated and continued community service which is often overlooked by the general community. There are very few people in the community who are prepared to give this commitment. I am certain that Rob is the longest serving Area Co-ordinator in Rural Watch in Queensland. The Imbil Rural Watch is a valuable crime fighting tool in this Division where the co-ordinators become an integral link between the Police and the community. Information from members has assisted in a solving a number of matters over the past 20 years.

Please also be advised that Glenda may be absent at times due to illness, training or leave. It is safer to check by ringing her at the station on 5484 5222 than waste a trip. Terry Kennedy Sergeant

NOOSA ORCHESTRA DOES IT AGAIN !

he Noosa Orchestra along with the Noosa String Ensemble played up a storm on Sunday 17 October at the acoustically renowned chapel at Good Shepherd Lutheran College. The afternoon repertoire started beautifully with the Noosa String Ensemble conducted by Silvi Eckley playing March of the Mathamagicians by Bob Phillips followed Cable Car Crossing by Robert Frost. The children did a beautiful job and were so excited to see where all their hard work can lead them… the Noosa Orchestra! The rest of the afternoon was sheer delight with the internationally accomplished conductor Antoni Bonetti leading the Noosa Orchestra to perform Holst’s Jupiter, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto 2nd Movement with a beautiful solo by Sian Davis and Schubert’s Symphony No 8 “Unfinished”. The music was mesmorising, enchanting and uplifting and there was still more. A fabulous afternoon was had by all and we look forward to hearing what will be happening next year with both the ensemble and the orchestra. For any further info go to www.noosaorchestra.com

MARY VALLEY

D

Mary River Festival 2010 TWO FUN SATURDAYS

ue to popular demand the Mary River Festival will be held on Saturday 13 November this year, one year and two days after the announcement of “No Dam” by Peter Garrett. The Festival now in its third year is becoming a must attend event for Mary Valley residents and those who recognise the importance of the river. This year there will be two events, both in the Mary Valley. On Sunday 7 November a Family Fun Day will be held on a beautiful bend of the Mary River at the property of Les Hall on Wilcox Road, just past Matilda’s. There will be lots of family fun and games, water events, tree planting, music and food from 1pm to 8pm. Bring along your canoe, tubes and other water activity play gear and have some fun. For a gold coin entry, the public are invited to take part in the festivities and be prepared for some interactive local family entertainment beside the Mary River. Entry only from the south, by going to the Amamoor turnoff and coming back towards Gympie. Follow the signs. Ring Adele on 5483 9165 for more information. And on Satuday 13 November the Mary River Festival will be held at Kandanga Recreation Grounds with performances starting at midday and going to 8pm. The day will start with planting trees on the banks of Kandanga Creek from 9.30am to 11.30am. There will be a line-up of musicians on the main stage throughout the day including: Barry Charles, Eb’n’Flo, Chardonnay Sippers, Asa Broomhall, Things That Swing and much more. A variety of food and market stalls, demonstrations and community information will circle the grounds, as well as workshops in weaving, clay work, screen printing, and juggling. There will be many environmental displays from community groups and businesses as well as a presence from the Queensland Youth Environment Council with environmental games for youth to participate in. For the second year the Gecko Man with his amazing display of reptiles will entertain and surprise visitors. He was a big hit at last years’ event. Features include a fire event, twilight parade and EcoRainbow Show followed by the presentation of the inaugural Mary River Environment Awards – a total of six awards will be presented to innovative projects in the Mary River Valley. So much to celebrate and a terrific way of celebrating our communities along the river, and worth putting the time aside on Saturday 13 November to attend. For more information phone Joolie Gibbs on 5481 0732.

OUR COMMUNITY Julie’s Newsletter

H

ello everybody and welcome to my November Newsletter, and isn’t the weather interesting at the moment. To think that this time last year there were fire bans and MVHR couldn’t run the steam engine and this week they were flooded in! Councils Sports Lending Library is now available through our Youth Development Office opposite the Library in Mellor Street. The equipment was bought through a grant and will be very handy for the district for those groups less fortunate than others. Council is holding another microchipping day at the Gympie Showgrounds on 7 November from 9am, the cost is $30. Don’t forget that the new legislation comes in on 12 December and covers all cats and dogs in the shire and whole of Queensland, regardless of where you live. The Gympie and Hinterland Guide to Weeds and Endemic Native Alternatives is now available at Council Offices and also at the GRC library at Imbil. BTW Imbil Library now has 1103 members so pop in and take a look around. Imbil Neighbourhood Watch covers the areas of Carters Ridge, Ridgewood, Imbil, Brooloo, Kandanga and Amamoor. All welcome along to the meetings held on the first Monday of the month at the Kandanga Public Hall at 7.30pm. The RV (Recreational Vehicle) rest area is now open at Kandanga op Kandanga Snack Bar and is already being well utilised. This park is designed for the tourists who are just wanting to either stay overnight or just stretch their legs. A new, five shop commercial development, on the corner of Diggins Rd and Yabba Ck Rd, Imbil was approved at Councils Oct. planning meeting. MRCCC had their AGM on 12 October with over 50 delegates and guests attending. Congratulations to the new committee of Phil Moran as Chair, Margaret Thompson as Secretary and Brian Thomas as Vice Chair. I would like to welcome Annette Bourke as the new chair of Gympie and District Landcare. The centre has a new lease of life and welcomes visitors to their nursery on Old Maryborough Rd. The “lovely” (not so wonderful) yellow flower which is adorning our trees at the moment is CatsClaw and is a vicious weed, so if you see it on your property, now is an excellent time for a plan to eradicate it while it is so visible. With the increase in incidences around the Mary Valley either on the roads or on private property we are really calling for interested volunteers to join our First Response Team. Come along for our training nights held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday nights of the month at the Fire Station in Imbil.

Joining SES Cadets is a wonderful way for the younger set to get involved in the community and have fun while learning a very important role. Phone Tess Reardon on 5481 0760. Cr Julie Walker 0437 543 035 • crjuliewalker@gmail.com

Butter Factory Arts Centre explores stories of the Sunshine Coast

U

p the Coast, Our Stories Our Collections: Sunshine Coast Heritage Collections exhibition is currently showing at Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy until 30 October 2010. The exhibition, which celebrates the history of the Sunshine Coast as a holiday destination, features objects, photographs and stories from Sunshine Coast community museums and libraries, the Sunshine Coast Council Art Collection, Bankfoot House and some private collectors. And audiences at the talk are invited to bring along their favourite Sunshine Coast holiday snaps to be copied and added to the Picture Sunshine Coast database. The photos will build on the Sunshine Coast’s collection of contemporary photos available online. Cultural Heritage Curator Olivia Robinson said the gallery was pleased to bring Peter Spearritt’s (one of Queensland’s most notable historians and a Professor of History in the School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics at the University of Queensland) expertise and viewpoint on the topic to the local community. “Peter’s work will help enhance the heritage work we are doing on the Sunshine Coast - work that takes the region’s history and heritage from a local viewpoint to one much broader, and reminds us we are part of the larger Queensland story,” Ms Robinson said. More information about locations and opening times of community museums and cultural heritage places across the Sunshine Coast can be found at council’s website www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au

KENILWORTH A TRAVELLERS’ TALE ON QR RAIL

B

lair and myself arranged to visit our sons in Townsville to celebrate Blair’s 70th birthday on 12 October. It was prearranged that we stay overnight in Nambour on 10 October and travel to the airport in Brisbane by train early on Monday 11 October. A seemingly simple enough plan - but mother nature stepped in and poured an intense amount of rain into the area - followed by strong winds. Four minutes prior to the arrival of the train from Gympie North on the Monday morning it was announced that the train was cancelled due to a tree across the line between Yandina and Nambour. The assembled group of passengers were directed to a bus to journey to Caboolture to meet up with an express train that would still enable the departure timetable to be met. This did not happen and a stop all stations train was boarded which linked with the Airtrain loaded down with numerous pieces of luggage and impeded by light rain. Travelling past Toombul Shopping Town we were flabbergasted by the height of the flood waters in Schultz Canal and the number of heavy vehicles and earth moving equipment underwater. Upon arrival at the airport - check in went smoothly - after I convinced the person at the desk that I was not carrying dangerous goods (online mixup). Just before we were called to board the flight the woman sitting beside me informed me she had taken a strong painkiller for her back pain and was now very light headed and feeling quite ill. When she informed me what she had taken I knew it was a dangerous opiate. A first aid officer was called and then the paramedics. I was informed on the plane that the lady had gone into cardiac arrest after the paramedics arrived and her most expensive clothing - which I had admired - had to be cut from her body in order to facilitate appropriate treatment. So much for a quiet, peaceful train journey. Lenore Meldrum, Gheerulla

To make up for some of our missed musters due to some pesky rain a Weekend Muster is being planned for 30 and 31 October. A Come and Try Day will also be available for non-Pony Club members on 31 October to have a look at what happens at pony club. All participants must abide by the terms, conditions and approved saddlery/equipment as per PCAQ requirements. For more info please contact President, Lyn Fitzer on 5446 9190.
