Prosthetic Records’ The Minor Times is a hardcore band. The direction for their album artwork, which included a 16 page booklet, was to maintain a stark color palette of red, black, white, and metallic silver through out. Additionally they wanted illustrations solely of wolves in urban settings with lyrics from their album ‘Summer Of Wolves’ incorporated into the illustrations. Working with Jazz quartet Shot X Shot for their release ‘Let Nature Square’ on the High Two label brought about an opportunity to create a vivid digital illustration that pulled together photo elements of construction sites with hand drawn forms. The clean san-serif infused design balances the franticness of the digital illustration echoing the groups music that fluctuates between tightly composed passages and free form improvisation.
