Razzmatazz celebra su décimo aniversario Razzmatazz celebrates its tenth anniversary
Una década haciendo mover el culo a la ciudad de Barcelona, aunque parezca que ha estado ahí toda la vida. Y para celebrarlo se van tirar más de un mes de juerga. El 5 de noviembre comenzará un ciclo de más de 50 conciertos que festejarán a quien ha pasado por la sala y a quien queda por venir, que rendirán homenaje a la música, el hedonismo y a la ciudad que la envuelve. Primal Scream, Suede, LCD Soundsystem, Caribou o Cola Jet Set son algunas de las bandas que ejercerán de maestras de ceremonias hasta el fin de los fastos, el 22 de diciembre. Paralelamente, la sala edita un libro conmemorativo con imágenes de lo que ha ocurrido en la Razz en estos diez años. A decade making people in Barcelona shake their bodies, even if it seems like they’ve been there all our lives. And to celebrate this, they’ll be partying for over a month. On the 5th of November Razzmatazz will begin a series of over 50 concerts to celebrate all the people who’ve visited the club and those yet to come, a tribute to music, hedonism and the surrounding city. In parallel, the concert hall will publish a commemorative book with pictures of the events taken place at Razzmatazz during the past decade.

Paris’ Modern Art Museum (MAM) has created one of the most important retrospective on his work since an overdose took the New Yorker’s life in 1988. Basquiat, who was of Haitian and Puertorican origin, was 27 years old at the time of his death. But unlike many of his peers, he attained fame long before he died. By the age of 20 he was already worshipped in his city’s art scene, first as a graffiti artist and later as a painter. Novodevichy, el cementerio moscovita donde descansan los restos de Bulgakov, Khruschev, Yeltsin y Gogol, entre muchos otros, se está quedando pequeño. Vaganskokvskoye, otra necrópolis popular entre las familias importantes de la capital, tampoco da abasto. Para evitar la perspectiva de compartir sus tumbas con el resto de mortales, la élite rusa tendrá un nuevo espacio para enterrar a sus familiares a partir de 2012. El Ayuntamiento creará un nuevo cementerio exclusivamente para “personas que han hecho una contribución significativa a la esfera humanitaria, cultural, científica y social”, según el diario Komsomolskaya Pravda. Vaganskokvskoye, another cemetery which is popular among important families in the capital, doesn’t have enough space either. To avoid the possibility of sharing their graves with other mere mortals, the Russian elite will have a new space to bury their families from 2012. The Town Council will build a new cemetery which will be reserved for “people who have made a significant contribution to the humanitarian, cultural, scientific and social spheres,” according to newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.
