THREE SEVENTY COMMON KITCHEN + DRINK 370 Glenneyre Street | Laguna Beach, CA 92651 949-494-8686 | www.370Common.com A neighborhood eatery embellished almost entirely with upcycled materials from the tables to the chandeliers, Three Seventy Common Kitchen + Drink’s metamorphosis focuses on quality and rusticity. Chef and proprietor Ryan Adams claimed this space as his own last year and is sharing his stripped-down, relaxed vibe with old Sorrento clientele as well as a new demographic of diners. The “globally influenced, domestically sourced” comfort food menu is divided into five sections, including Bites (by the piece), Small, Medium, Large and Sides. Everything from Thai chicken wings to chopped salads to clams and risotto cover the categories and are graciously served in cast iron skillets or on maple cutting boards. Chef Ryan grew up being influenced by a combination of Midwestern and

Southern-style comfort foods with a dad from Wisconsin and a mom from North Carolina, and these imprints have bore a chef who cooks with bold flavors and a lot of heart. He went for more portable dishes with the Three Seventy Common menu that express an American-based melting pot, using French and Asian techniques. Chef Ryan said, “We really do whatever we feel like. Comfort food is different all around the world.” He wants his guests to imagine that Three Seventy Common is their home. He encourages customers to sit down for a while, to start by choosing cheese and charcuterie from the clip board provided on each table, to order several small plates to set in the center to pick from while enjoying a comfortable evening of eating. Three Seventy Common also has a long list

of kitschy cocktails, including the Betty Ford and The Sexy Dennis. Pay for a drink for a friend and place their name on the “Buy Your Friend a Drink” Board above the bar, and a new drink may be named after you. SMALL PLATE PICK: I challenge you to find Poutine on another local menu. Three Seventy Common’s take on this Canadian bar food classic bakes together French fries, cheese curds, veal, peas, leeks, cheddar bacon bits in a gorgeous brown veal gravy – all served in a mini cast iron skillet. Sounds like hangover food, but it’s just as sinfully good while sober. NATIVE KNOWLEDGE: The sconces on the wall are also upcycled. Can you guess what they’re made of? Recycled Jack Daniels bottles – a perfect fit for this Laguna newbie!
