He might be the would-be turnaround president, but we know the in term turnaround president. Her name is Dr. Carol Taylor. She’s the University President and CEO of Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. It’s been about a year since Dr. Taylor received the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Award, recognizing her leadership in a profound institutional turnaround at Vanguard University, which was in danger of losing accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges prior to her being named president. A smart and levelheaded woman with more than 30 years of experience in education at institutions like Biola and Princeton, Taylor was a blessing for the floundering school. Today the school is growing in bounds. It takes a lot of smarts, a lot of heart, and a good sense of humor to weather that kind of storm and come out on top. Dr. Taylor has all three in spades.
