18262.5 days, 600 months, half a century, HFCC is now celebrating its 50th year anniversary! During these 50 years, our school has been blessed richly with many precious memories. Together with past and present HFCC staff and students, we are indeed making history.

In this issue of our library newsletter, we are going to take you through the beauty of HFCC. Be prepared to meet our lovely teachers and some famous alumnae. Shh… some secrets about our school may be revealed as well! Let’s get this birthday party for HFCC going!

Stellar Alumna: Miriam Yeung

Miriam Yeung graduated from HFCC in 1989 and was a registered nurse at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung. Then, she began her career of an actress and Cantopop diva after coming third in the

14th annual New Talent Singing Awards competition in 1995.

Achievements:

-In 2005, she was elected one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong

-In 2012, Yeung won the Award for Best Actress at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards for portraying “Cherie Yu in LoveintheBuff”

-Many of her songs have been mainstream hits and award winners, such as ”Maiden's Prayer" (少女的祈禱), "Sisters" (姊妹), "Unfortunately I'm an Aquarius" (可惜 我是水瓶座) .

CrystalLim3A 書名:羅傑疑案 作者:阿加莎克⾥斯蒂 《羅傑疑案》講述了一名富商在鄉下的⼩村遭殺害,鼎鼎⼤名的比利時偵探波 洛受委托,與當地的夏波醫生一起尋找案件背後的真相。阿加莎為書中的每 一角都安排了合理的殺人動機,又巧妙地透過偵探波洛之口去洗清他們的嫌疑 ,解決了一個又一個的謎團。阿加莎的功力在這本書中表現得淋漓盡致,整個 故事的推展合情合理,作者完美地將謎團掩蓋到最後⼀刻,讀者才恍然大悟, 獲得了最美妙的體驗。 我最喜歡書裏這段對人性的剖析,「比如說,有這麼一個普通人,一个非常普 通、心中全無殺意的人。他的骨子裏潛藏着某種性格的缺陷——藏得很深很深 ,迄今爲止都没有人發現,或許一輩子也不會表現出來——那麽他將體面地走 完人生之路,受到所有人的尊敬。但假設他因為某些緣故而陷入困境——也許 不至於如此,也許他是偶然窺見某個秘密——對某人而性命攸關的秘密。他的 第反應是說出來——履行誠實公民的義務。然后他潛藏的性格缺陷開始冒頭。 我想這個案子就屬於這種情况,所謂殺鷄取卵,逼⼈太甚的結果就是斷了財 路。可事情還没結束,我們所說的這個人正面臨陰謀暴露的危機,而他再也回 不去了——再也變不回一年前的那個他了。他的道德底綫已被全部腐蝕,他在 絕望中掙扎,他在打一場 局已定的仗,他已經做好了不擇手段的準備,因為 真相 露意味着身 名裂。就這樣——他刺出了那一劍。」這段話是偵探波 洛在推理時説的話,講述了兇手從一個普通,到選擇「以惡⼩而爲之」的人心 魍魎,如同惡魔的低語,越過雷池就是萬劫不復。因此我們也要時刻警醒自己 ,不能落入罪惡的陷阱之中。 你聽過東野圭吾的名字`嗎?有沒有讀過他著名的作 品《惡意》呢?《惡意》沿⽤了偵探⼩説其中一款 經典的流派— 詭,⽽《羅傑疑案》正正就是此流 派的開⼭之作,也是「偵探女王」阿加莎克⾥斯蒂 幾部代表作之一。
