What the Pros Know Keep in mind the configuration of your vanity countertop when replacing a bathroom faucet. If it’s a standard three-hole arrangement, measure the distance between the centres of the outermost (tap) holes. A centre-set faucet is required for tap holes spaced four inches apart, while a widespread faucet is needed for holes set eight to 16 inches apart.
