Dear Brother, On behalf of Lambda Chi Alpha, the Grand High Zeta, the Student Advisory Committee, the Council of Presidents and the General Fraternity staff, we would like to welcome you to Memphis, TN. Thank you for taking time to join us and take part in making history by continuing to foster our founders’ belief in an undergraduate-run fraternity. Lambda Chi Alpha continues this tradition every other summer when the Stead Leadership Seminar convenes to educate members of the Fraternity on leadership, personal development and chapter operations. We hope that over the next few days you will enjoy your entire experience, culminating with our Purple, Green & Gold Banquet. For many of you, this is your first time attending an international event, and you will remember attending Lambda Chi’s largest weekend of brotherhood and learning in Memphis. Additionally, whether this is your first international event, or you have many under your belt, prepare yourself for a memorable Lambda Chi Alpha experience. Throughout this conference, you will experience the strength of our brotherhood, as well as learn skills necessary to assist your chapter or colony to continue to grow. The International Headquarters staff has prepared an exciting program that you will find both educational, and more importantly, a whole lot of fun. The workshops and brotherhood events will allow you to learn more about Lambda Chi Alpha and your own abilities. We challenge you to make this year’s Stead Leadership Seminar a great experience by developing relationships with your fellow brothers and especially the ELC’s and Master Stewards. You can make this happen by what you put into it – the more you give, the more you will receive in return. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to attend all the events and interact with other brothers from across North America. It is quite possible that some of the most educational components of the weekend will occur not in the sessions but rather when you share ideas and experiences with brothers from other chapters and colonies. By doing this, you will be able to fully experience the true power of Lambda Chi Alpha! Please bring one form of identification to receive all of your conference materials including some nice giveaways. Once you are registered, move all of your items into your room and then enjoy free time before the official kickoff at 2:00pm. During registration, be sure to sign up for a meeting time with a Master Steward for your chapter or colony during one of the breakfasts on Friday and Saturday. There is no fee to meet with a Master Steward and you are welcome to discuss any topic affecting your chapter’s operations. Please meet in FEC 219 during the time you sign up for.

The Jerre L. & Mary Joy Stead Leadership Seminar The Stead Leadership Seminar is named in honor of Jerre and Mary Joy Stead. Jerre Stead was initiated as a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha in January, 1962 at Coe College. He transferred to the University of Iowa and graduated from there in 1965. Jerre is a FAITHFUL STEWARD of our Fraternity, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation since 1998, six of those years as Chairman of the Board. He is the classic SERVANT LEADER, and is a member of our Fraternity’s Order of Achievement, having an almost unparalleled track record of success as CEO of companies such as Ingram Microsystems, NCR corporation, AT&T’s Global Information Solutions, and Square D Company. His early career was with Honeywell, and most recently, he has been chairman and chief executive officer of IHS, Inc., one of the leading global providers of critical technical information and decision-support tools. Brother Stead’s amazing life-long partner is his wife, Mary Joy. Mary Joy, herself, is one of Lambda Chi Alpha’s strongest advocates. Lambda Chi Alpha recognizes Jerre and Mary Joy Stead every summer during this week when 500 to 600 student leaders gather for our annual Stead Leadership Seminar honoring the Steads for their extraordinary financial support during our Call to Lead fundraising campaign that concluded in 2007. The Stead’s philanthropic charitable giving impact extends to churches, seminaries, several universities, centers on ethics, Alzheimer’s research, and many other educational and non-profit institutions that benefit from their great support like Lambda Chi Alpha. 4

Recruitment Section
For the next three hours, all attendees have the ability to choose their own path and determine which programs to attend. These are all focused on recruitment and how to improve your chapter or colony’s operations. Please choose one out of the four different sessions for each hour and be sure to sign in at the start of them. There will only be three sessions during the following time blocks: Session 1: 3:15 p.m. – 4:10 p.m. Session 2: 4:15 p.m. – 5:10 p.m. Session 3: 5:15 p.m – 6:10 p.m. A brief description of the sessions can be found on the following pages along with the room they are located in and the objectives of the program.
Dress Attire To remain the best gentlemen we can be and to ensure we are representing our organization to the highest standard, we need to remember our appearance is an essential item in achieving success. Events and Educational Programs: Collared shirt and khakis (shorts or pants) are appropriate along with belts and socks. These will be the guidelines for all events and meals unless specifically mentioned below. Ritual Exemplification: This event is special to all our brotherhood; we will be expecting badge/pin attire be worn to this event. This includes jacket and tie. Lambda Chi Alpha Olympics: Sportswear or anything needed to enhance your performance in the games. Purple, Green & Gold Banquet: Badge/pin attire to hold our last dinner to a higher level of professionalism. Staff and Master Stewards: In order to help guide you in seeking information, the staff will be wearing collared shirts with “Fraternity Staff” written on them. Branding & Marketing: Sending the Right Message During this session, participants will review marketing and branding techniques for their chapters taking practices from successful chapters and companies. Participants will learn the Five Key Elements for successful branding, learn about developing a successful brand, be instructed on the five P’s of Marketing and the commonly used marketing tools for recruitment. Be sure to attend this session if you feel your chapter needs help in this area! Location for this program is as follows: FEC 123
Recruitment Training Program: Stepping Stones to Success This programming track is designed to assist chapters and colonies in their training of members in the best practices of recruitment on college and university campuses. Participants will learn the benefits of a recruitment training program, examining the structure of effective workshops, how to organize and conduct training workshops, and learning techniques to facilitate group training activities. If your chapter needs help with training its members on how to recruit, you are encouraged to attend this session! Locations for this program are as follows: FEC 217

Who Are We Bidding?: The Difference Between a “Good Guy” and a “Great Brother” This program is designed to help chapters and colonies to better understand the quality of members that they are extending bids to join to. Attendees of this program will learn about the mentality of five types of college students, how to connect experiences to the Seven Core Values, best places to interact with potential new members, and learning about the different bidding processes within the fraternity. If you would like to better your chapter’s bidding process or learn some ways to increase the number of bids given out, please attend this session. Locations for this program are as follows: FEC 215

Year Round Recruitment: Moving Past the RUSH Mentality Does you chapter recruit for three weeks out of the year or less? This session can help improve your chapter or colony’s use of year round recruitment strategies to improve membership numbers and participation by brothers. Participants will learn how to be effective with recruitment year round, creating an in-depth calendar with benefits and how to create a long term recruitment plan. Robert Hackenson, founder of Dynamic Influence, will talk about social media safety in a way that will keep the audience’s attention as he uses illusions, video, skits, and live student debate to help drive home the messages. Rob specializes in educational entertainment that both engages and educates students. His use of Skit Hypnosis, Mind Magic, Illusions, Videos, and True Stories will have undergraduates on the edge of their seats, laughing hysterically, or sitting in sobering silence thinking about the important lessons.

Initiation Ritual Code VI-3. Official Badge. “…The Official Badge is worn over the heart by Brothers in good standing on the outermost layer of clothing that is not normally removed, i.e., pull-over sweater, vest, or shirt (when neither of the former is worn). It is worn only on a collared shirt. It is not worn on a jacket of any type including the coat-style sweater…The badge guard normally is the Greek letter(s) designating the Zeta; without exception the guard is worn by all Brothers so that the guard is clearly below the Delta Pi on the badge…” At the doors to the exemplification all brothers will be challenged for entrance into the Ritual chamber. Also remember that this is a solemn occasion, anyone disturbing the assembly will be escorted out. Please turn off all phones and electronic devices. Brother Lynn Chipperfield will be reading the Ritual Narration during the Ritual Exemplification. Brother Chipperfield is a Drury University graduate and served the fraternity as the Grand High Pi from 2002 to 2010 and as the Grand High Phi in 2010.

8:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. True Leader Programming The True Leader program allows members to discover and evaluate personal strengths and weaknesses as a leader and to become aware of one’s natural leadership style. You will be in the same room that you were in for the Incorporating the Learning Model Program yesterday. If you are an Associate Member, please look on the back of your name badge to find the location of your room. The list of group numbers and locations can be found on pg. 11. There will be three separate programs depending on which you have completed thus far: True Leader One: Building Awareness To become more aware of one’s strengths and weaknesses as a leader and becoming more aware of one’s natural leadership style. True Leader Two: Developing Relationships To focus on the development and understanding of interpersonal group dynamics and development of skills in engaging others. True Leader Three: Understanding Leadership Styles To gain more mature leadership skills and to demonstrate the ability to practice flexibility of leadership styles.

Event Planning Guide Event planning has to be a stressful process, doesn’t it? The Lambda Chi Alpha Event Planning Guide was released as a resource to simplify the event planning process for undergraduate members. Rather than have each applicable form listed separately, the Event Planning Guide contains all forms needed for a chapter to properly host an event. The Event Planning Guide also offers a step by step breakdown of planning a chapter event, and the Event Planning Form. Remember, event planning does not have to be a stressful process. Utilize the Event Planning Guide to execute the 6 P’s of Planning: Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. As you plan events over the course of the year, make use of the resources presented in the Event Planning Guide and know that staff members are always available to assist in the process. Fill Out Your Harm Reduction Report Each semester, chapters and colonies of Lambda Chi Alpha have the opportunity to submit a Harm Reduction Report to General Fraternity Staff. The report, submitted on May 1st for the spring semester and December 1st for the fall semester, serves two primary purposes: 1. The report allows the chapter or colony an opportunity to showcase their harm reduction efforts over the past semester. 2. The report acts as an application for a reduction in the per-man Risk Management Assessment Fee for every chapter and colony. Each chapter or colony’s harm reduction efforts are evaluated using the Lambda Chi Alpha Learning Model components, consisting of experience, reflect, make meaning, and share. The components are used to evaluate the topic areas of crisis management, event planning, harm reduction education, house safety, and fire safety. Following their submission, reports are reviewed by a staff member and receive a corresponding score. This score determines the per-man discount that the chapter or colony will receive on their Risk Management Assessment Fee. If you have any questions, please contact harmreduction@lambdachi.org. 16

Brother Michael Odell has been the Chief Executive Officer of Pep Boys since September 2008 and had the privilege of being designated with the additional title of President in June 2010. Mike joined Pep Boys in September 2007 as Executive Vice President-Chief Operating Officer, after having served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sears Retail & Specialty Stores. Mr. Odell received his BA from the University of Denver and his MBA from Northwestern University. Phoenix Award This award is presented to a chapter that has made positive strides in overall chapter operations for at least three consecutive years. Chapters receiving this award have worked diligently to grow in membership, scholarship, alumni programing, and many other areas. Brother Nicholas Zuniga, current Director of Chapter Services, will present these awards. Grand High Alpha Award This award is the highest honor that a chapter can receive from the General Fraternity. It recognizes chapters that have maintained a superior level of operations for at least three consecutive years. Brother Drew Hunter, current Grand High Alpha, will present these awards.

Helping Fight Hunger one brother at a time.
A new partnership with Feeding America has been created to help end hunger and it all begins at the Stead Leadership Seminar. This is an opportunity to significantly increase the amount of food our nearly 200 chapters collect and donate to local food banks. Since 1993 our chapters have taken an active role in donating non-perishable food and have raised more than 40 million pounds of food for the needy! In the fall of 2012, Lambda Chi Alpha chapters collected over a million pounds of food (equivalent to approximately 920,000 meals). We challenge each of you to work with your chapter to reach our goal as an international organization of 1.5 million pounds of food for the 2013-2014 academic year. Below are the ways to get involved with a Feeding America Foodbank. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Contact the local Feeding America Foodbank that is located in your area . Host a philanthropic event (i.e. Watermelon Bust, Teeter-totter thon, canned food drive etc.). Buses departing the University of Memphis to the Memphis Airport will pick up participants outside of Richardson Towers. One bus will leave on every 30 minutes. They will leave right on time so do not be late or you will have to wait for the next one! Grand High Zeta Stead Leadership Seminar
Grand High Zeta What is the Grand High Zeta? The Grand High Zeta is the Board of Directors for Lambda Chi Alpha. There are 11 alumni and 4 undergraduate brothers that serve on the Grand High Zeta. These men meet four times a year with the General Fraternity staff to provide insight, feedback and make decisions for the entire organization. These men are the supreme executive, legislative and judicial body of the fraternity. A few examples of decisions made by the Grand High Zeta include: granting a charter to a colony, providing new legislation during the interim between General Assemblies and supervision over the financial acts and polices of the fraternity. How can you provide input to the Grand High Zeta as an undergraduate? As an undergraduate you can speak with your conclave’s Student Advisory Committee representative. He can then relay that information to the chairman of the Student Advisory Committee who is a member of the Grand High Zeta. Who elects the Grand High Zeta? The Grand High Zeta is slated by a nominating committee and elected at each General Assembly. The Grand High Alpha (Chairman of the Board) shall appoint a nominating committee of nine members. Five men will be undergraduates and four will be alumni. To learn more about the Grand High Zeta and other Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity laws, review the 41st Edition of the Constitution & Statutory Code.

Stead Leadership Seminar Grand High Zeta James A. “Drew” Hunter, MPA Grand High Alpha Denver University ’80 Brother Hunter has served on the Grand High Zeta since 2004. Drew was elected as Grand High Alpha at the 53rd General Assembly, July 2010. Brother Hunter received a BSBA Degree in Finance and Marketing, University of Denver, 1984. A Masters of Public Administration with an emphasis on Organizational Development, University of Colorado, 1990. Hunter recently retired (June 30, 2011) as President/CEO, The BACCHUS Network. Brother Hunter also served for more than 25 years as High Pi and House Corporation member for Alpha-Pi Zeta, Denver University. He is a member True Brother Council (2005 to present).Received the Order of Merit, Lambda Chi Alpha 2002. Hunter held the offices of High Phi, High Beta, High Epsilon and High Delta as an undergraduate. Brother Hunter is active in the community with the organizations and roles below: • Delegate, North American InterFraternity Conference – 2004 to present. • Board Treasurer, NOYS (National Organizations for Youth Safety). • White House Leadership Conference on Youth, Drug Use and Violence. John H. Graham IV, CAE Grand High Gamma Franklin & Marshall ‘71 Brother Graham was appointed to Grand High Zeta, November 2010. Graham is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall, 1971. He has been the President and CEO of ASAE since 2003, which manages leading trade associations, individual membership societies and voluntary organizations across the U.S. and in 50 countries around the globe. Graham served 24 years with American Diabetes Association (as CEO for 13 years). Graham also served the Boy Scouts of America for nine years. Graham serves his community with the organizations listed below: • Association Committee of 100, U.S. Chamber of Commerce • Chairman of the Better Business Bureau, Mobile Giving Foundation Board of Directors John lives in Burke, VA.
Grand High Zeta Stead Leadership Seminar Gregg D. Behrens Grand High Tau Iowa State University ’74 Brother Behrens was elected to the Grand High Zeta in July 2010 at the 53rd General Assembly. Behrens is a 1974 graduate of Iowa State University and he received a Masters in Management in 1981 from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Brother Behrens held the offices of High Alpha, High Beta, Summer Delta and House Manager. He also served as Vice President of the Inter Fraternity Council and Co-Chair of Greek Week. Behrens retired from The Northern Trust Company in November 2009, where he last served as CEO-Asia Pacific Region based in Singapore. Behrens has served as a Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation Board Member since 2002; and served as Chairman (2005-2008), Treasurer (2003-2005), Executive Committee member (2003-2010), and The Call To Lead Capital Campaign Cabinet Committee (2003-2007). Behrens also serves Iowa State University in the roles listed below: • Governor, Iowa State University Foundation (2003-present) • Board of Directors, Iowa State University Foundation (2013-present) • Alumni Ambassador (1997-2005) Gregg and his wife, Ann, enjoy homes in Mt. M. Fletcher McElreath Grand High Pi Mercer University ‘87 Brother McElreath was appointed to the Grand High Zeta in 2006 for a two year term, and elected for a four year term in 2008, and re-elected to a second four year term in 2012. McElreath graduated from Mercer University in 1987, summa cum laude, with a degree in Accounting, and received his J.D. degree from Columbia Law School in 1991, where he was honored as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Fletcher is a partner with Alston & Bird LLP in their New York office. His practice focuses on debt and equity securities
offerings, public and private mergers and acquisitions activities. McElreath is the head of the firm’s corporate practice worldwide, and the former leader of the Financial Services and Products Practice Group. Fletcher served the Fraternity as an Educational Leadership Consultant from 1987-1988. He served as a High Pi at Mercer University from 1992 to 2000, and has also served in various coaching roles including as a LEAP and Impact Leadership Coach, a Master Steward and a True Brother facilitator for the last 15 years. Fletcher was born and raised in south Georgia, and now resides in New York City, NY.
Elgan L. Baker, Jr., Ph.D. Grand High Kappa DePauw University ‘71 Brother Baker was elected to Grand High Zeta at the 53rd General Assembly, July 2010. Baker graduated from DePauw in 1971. He received his Ph.D., from the University of Tennessee in 1976. Brother Baker is President and CEO, Meridian Psychological Associates, PC (Indianapolis). He is also Director of Indiana Center for Psychoanalysis (1988 to present). Baker has served on the faculty of Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry since 1980. He has also served on numerous boards, committees and volunteer/community service associations. Brother Baker has served Lambda Chi Alpha in numerous volunteer capacities: • Alumni Advisory Board, DePauw (1980-1996). • High Pi - DePauw (1982-1996); Tennessee (1972-1975); Denver (1976-1978); Houston (1978-1980); Butler (2004 to present).
Dr. B. James Dawson Grand High Rho Evansville ‘67 Brother Dawson was appointed to the Grand High Zeta in November 2010. Dawson received a doctorate in administration of higher education, Indiana University. He received his B.A. and M.A. from University of Evansville. Dawson is the President of Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, TN), where he previously served as COO and Chancellor. Before his tenure at Lincoln Memorial, Dawson served as President at Coker College (2002-2010) and

Brother Dawson gained national recognition as a member of the Presidents Leadership Group, where he joined five other college/university presidents in concerted effort to involve higher education leadership in fight against irresponsible and illegal use of drugs and alcohol. He serves on the national board for BACCHUS and Gamma. Dawson is also a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International. Jim and his wife, Karen, have two children and three grandchildren. They reside in Harrogate, TN.
David M. Huffine Grand High Phi North Carolina-Greensboro ‘84 Brother Huffine was elected to the Grand High Zeta at the 54th General Assembly, July 2012 and serves as Grand High Phi. Huffine is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Huffine is the Vice President for Advancement at St. Joseph’s Villa, Richmond, VA. Huffine was a founding father of the chapter at North Carolina-Greensboro. During his tenure in the chapter, he held the roles of High Kappa, High Beta and Chartering High Alpha, as well as serving on the Student Advisory Committee for the Colonial Conclave. Huffine was an Educational Leadership Consultant from 1984-1986. Brother Huffine currently serves as High Pi for the colony at Virginia Commonwealth University, and on the Alumni Advisory Boards for the chapters at North Carolina-Greensboro and the University of Richmond. He serves on the Development Committee of the LCA Educational Foundation. Huffine holds the Certified Fundraising Executive designation and serves on the board of advisors for the Institute on Philanthropy at the University of Richmond. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church. Huffine and his wife Linda (Alpha Delta Pi) reside in Midlothian, VA. They have two daughters, Suzanne (Phi Mu) and Rebecca.
Robert A. Koch Grand High Delta California-Berkeley ‘71 Brother Koch was appointed to the Grand High Zeta in 2004 and elected in ’06 and ’10. Koch graduated from University of California-Berkeley, 1971. He received his MBA in Banking from Golden Gate University-San Francisco, 1978. Koch is the Vice President of Lending at Southland Credit Union in Los Alamitos, CA. Koch served as House Manager at the University of CaliforniaBerkeley, after returning from service in Vietnam, 1970 where he received the Purple Heart Award in 1969. He served as High Pi, at U.C. Riverside, 2007 to 2010.Served on LCAP Board from 2007 to present. Koch also served as High Pi, House Corporation member and president at University of California–Berkeley, 1972 to present. Brother Koch also received the Order of Merit, 2000. Koch has volunteer with different organizations: • Past president, Contra Costa County’s Easter Seal Society. • Past chairman, California Bankers Association, Lenders Conference Committee. • Member of Disabled American Veterans since 1984. Bob has three grown daughters, and a new granddaughter and resides in Fullerton, CA.
Rodger M. Lalli Grand High Iota Oklahoma ‘77 Brother Lalli was elected to the Grand High Zeta at the 53rd General Assembly, July 2010. Lalli is a 1977 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Lalli is the Vice President of Steve Owens Insurance Group in Norman, OK serving as a risk consultant for public school districts. Brother Lalli has served Lambda Chi as High Pi: Gamma-Rho Zeta (1999-2010 and 2012 – Current) and Pi-Sigma Zeta (2006-2010). He was named Fraternity Advisor of the Year at Oklahoma during the 03/04 and 06/07 school years. Lalli is a Founding Board Member of Willow Springs Boys Ranch serving as their Board President 1996-2002 and is also a Founding Member of Journey Covenant Church in Norman. Rodger currently resides in Norman, OK.

Grand High Zeta Stead Leadership Seminar James R. Schrader Grand High Epsilon Ball State ‘80 Brother Schrader was appointed to the Grand High Zeta in the spring of 2013. Schrader is a graduate of Ball State, 1980. Schrader is currently Senior Vice President of Wealth Management and a Certified Financial Planner for Morgan Stanley in Lafayette, IN. Schrader held the offices of House Manager, High Tau and High Delta. Schrader also was a member of the Student Advisory Committee, served as Conclave Coordinator and was on the International Ritual Team at the 1978 General Assembly. On campus he was a member of Ball State’s wrestling team and assisted with new student orientation.
Brother Schrader was an Educational Leadership Consultant from 1980-1981. He also served as Associate Editor of the Cross and Crescent and Associate Director of Development. He has served on the Housing Corporation of Purdue from 1985-1995. Schrader was also a Foundation Board Member and member of the Board of Investment Advisors. In the Greater Lafayette community Schrader has served on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, Lafayette Symphony, Leadership Lafayette, City Bus, Lafayette Catholic Schools, YMCA and was a chair of the annual United Way campaign. He is currently an assistant-varsity football coach at Central Catholic high school. Jim and his wife Lisa currently reside in Lafayette, IN. They have four children. Schrader enjoys running and has completed the Indianapolis, Chicago and Paris marathons.

Educational Leadership Consultants This year, nine Educational Leadership Consultants will travel the country and offer guidance to chapters, advisors, and undergraduate officers throughout the year. If you would like to meet the ELC that will visit your chapter check the map on pg. 40 to see each region the ELCs will travel. Then attend the Meet Your ELC and Master Steward Session after the Purple, Green, and Gold Banquet on Saturday. Chris Buck (Ball State 2013) Chris is a graduate of Ball State University where he majored in political science. As a student campus leader he has served as SGA vice president, Judicial Board member, Credential Board member, Student Service chairman, and oncampus whip. In addition, he served the University Senate as an undergraduate representative and ex-officio non-voting member of the Student Rights and Community Standards subcommittee. As an undergraduate brother he served the Iota-Alpha chapter as president and recruitment chairman. Role of an ELC Visit Lambda Chi Alpha prides itself on its Educational Leadership Consultant (ELC) program and commitment to providing a visit from a professional staff member twice each year to every one of our more than 190 chapters and colonies. The ELC visit to your chapter serves several purposes: • An opportunity for your chapter to interact and connect with a representative of the General Fraternity and larger, international brotherhood of Lambda Chi Alpha. • An assessment of all chapter operations, along with a chance to capitalize on chapter strengths and make improvements where needed. • A resource for training, guidance, and goal setting for the chapter and its leaders. The ELC has been trained to assist your chapter on everything from recruitment to finances, ritualism to community service, harm reduction to officer transitions. Use him to help your chapter and brothers improve. Take advantage of the resources offered to your chapter by your ELC. Make sure your chapter is prepared for his visit by reviewing all materials he will send in advance of his visit, identifying areas where the ELC can be of the biggest help to your chapter, preparing officers to talk about their positions and goals, and setting aside time for the chapter and its officers to have important meetings with the ELC. Interested in Being a Lambda Chi Intern? There are a variety of undergraduate internship opportunities available throughout the year at the International Headquarters. These positions are responsible for supporting/ managing projects and executing tasks, particularly those associated with the summer General Assembly or Stead Leadership Seminar; organizing and filing paper and electronic records; and supporting members of the senior staff when called upon to do so. In addition these jobs include opportunities to participate in retreats with the Chapter Services team and the subordinate zetas, as well as to work collaboratively with the Educational Leadership Consultants (ELCs) on various projects and assignments. Finally, these positions entail working on multiple projects concurrently; meeting the needs of the subordinate zetas, accomplishing tasks for the summer conference, and aiding in the administrative duties of the International Headquarters staff. Stead Leadership Seminar Expansions
2013- 2014 Expansions Lambda Chi Alpha has restructured the way we utilize our expansion program. We have created three new positions called Expansion Managers. These managers develop one colony each semester. Their responsibilities include: managing, planning, and executing these expansions. The expansion managers are expected to establish a healthy chapter environment by educating undergraduates on chapter management and recruitment. Communicating with alumni, school officials, students, and other Greek affiliates are critical to the success of the expansion. Managers will stay on campus for up to 12 weeks a semester and are accompanied by an Educational Leadership Consultant. Huntingdon College - Lambda Chi Alpha will be expanding to Huntingdon College, located in Montgomery, Alabama, for the first time this fall. Currently, there are three other fraternities and three sororities active at Huntingdon College, which comprise approximately 23% of the undergraduate population of 1,150. With over 600 living Lambda Chi Alpha alumni within a 25 mile radius of Huntingdon College, we expect a strong foundation of alumni support to help advise the colony. South Dakota State University – On May 18, 1968, Lambda Chi Alpha was originally installed on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings, South Dakota. For nearly 38 years, the Lambda-Theta Zeta initiated over 450 undergraduate members. There are currently seven other fraternities present on the campus of over 12,500 students. More outreach will continue in the weeks ahead and if you are interested in assisting with the colony or know any students at South Dakota State University that could become great Lambda Chi Alpha members, please contact Expansion Manager Jon Moss at jmoss@lambdachi.org. Stetson University – On April 22, 1949, Lambda Chi Alpha was installed on the Stetson University campus in DeLand, Florida. For nearly 59 years, the Zeta-Tau chapter initiated 1,014 undergraduate members. Six other fraternities are currently established on the campus. In the next few weeks Lambda Chi Alpha will begin to reach out to alumni for support and if you are interested in assisting with the colony or know any students at Stetson University that could become great Lambda Chi Alpha members, please contact Expansion Manager Michael DeCourcy at mdecourcy@lambdachi.org. Missouri State University – Lambda Chi Alpha will be expanding to Missouri State University, located in Springfield, Missouri for the first time in spring 2014. Currently, there are eighteen other fraternities and nine sororities active at Missouri State University which comprises approximately 12% of the undergraduate population of 22,866. With over 1,800 living Lambda Chi Alpha alumni within a 25 mile radius of Missouri State University, we expect a strong foundation of alumni support to help advise the colony. Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation The Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation is a charitable and educational tax-exempt organization, separate and independent from the Fraternity, whose sole purpose is to serve as an educational resource for the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Dollars raised go toward educational programming and initiatives, such as the Stead Leadership Seminar and Lambda Chi Alpha’s TRUE Brother Initiative, to help build and invest in Lambda Chi Alpha’s future leaders. The mission of the Foundation is “To provide the funding to continue and expand leadership development and educational programs for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and its related constituencies, and to perpetuate the existence of these programs for future generations of youth as a complement to the experience of higher education.”
