Some staples are wrap tops with a wood ring, jersey maxi dresses and skirts as well as tops with zipper details. The wrap tops are a unique design available in every imaginable color and print from simple to bold. They can be worn in various ways depending on the mood and style of the individual, accentuating the shoulder, stomach or hips. The zipper embellished tops are also distinctly Mamayashi. “I love zippers,” explains Mama Yashi, “I think it’s the metal. When I first started making clothes I put a lot of things on the clothes, like chains; I love metal. It also adds another design element where the clothes can open. It’s funky, more edgy.”
