thinner branches hang a little on the outer side. 'Pink Perfection' is not a vigorous grower, so it is best grafted high on a stock of Prunus avium, if one wants a proper tree of it. It is quite popular as a garden tree in Europe and North America. Although some other successful Western crosses of Japanese cherries equally well deserve to be described in detail, we give 'Pink Perfection' here as an example. Prunus 'Pink Perfection' Description: Tree to 5 m high, making a globular crown with often hanging, thin twigs. Young foliage light bronze-green to green. Serration double, only at the base with glands. Stipules medium divided, 11 16 mm long. Corymbose inflorescence, with three to seven flowers. Peduncles 34 cm long. Pedicels 2.55.5 cm long(!). Flower in bud red (RHS 63A)(!), becoming pink (RHS 73-C, D) when completely opened. Flower 5.05.5(6.0) cm in diameter, disorderly, often with some imperfect petals in the heart.
