they are expanding. The mature flowers are markedly different with their fifty to eighty stamens, and the receptacle is a hollow cup shape, with flower organs set on the inner side and sepals on the rim. 'Najima-zakura' has a diploid set of chromosomes (2n = 16). Raikoji-kiku-zakura is a chrysanthemum-flowered cherry that originates from Raiko* -ji Temple in the village of Fugeshi-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture. It has a fastigiate tree shape. The receptacle of the flower is disk-shaped, and it has no hole or depression as seen in the flowers of 'Kiku-zakura'.
