Hearing is believing & Felicitaciones (congratulations) Special thanks this month to Noel, Rudy, Juan in recognition of the great work they do daily. Noel, Randall and Juan (Rudy not pictured).

What do you get when you build a clubhouse in the middle of paradise and put a piano it? Music! Out of the jungle and into the clubhouse; Dines and Dave have a total of 12 years in Costa Rica but only just met. It was a piano that brought us all together. After some practice and a final move/ tuning of the instrument in question it will be Huey Lewis eat your heart out. That's the power of love!

Randall & Jairo both successfully competed a firearms course and were certified licensed to carry in Costa Rica. Congratualtions to each on their hard work and perseverence. We are proud to have them as our security guards and appreciate how they watch over all of Vistas del Lago. 

Power Duo Dines & Dave BTW—Open Mike Night @ Tilawa THIS Friday!

Grandparents’ corner “It’s not braggin’ if it’s true.”

Many of our homeowners have been blessed this last year with grand children. One of life's great treasures. Matt & Dede lot 45 were twice blessed as both their sons had babies very close together (right and below). Brad spends some time preparing Jairo and Randall for what they can expect during training.

Zetty lot 47 & 48 had a grandson from her youngest daughter. We hope to have a fresh pic next issue. Joe & Pat lot 60 also are enjoying another grandchild (far right). Grandpa John and Charlize (left) just got the news she is going to be a big sister!

Brad and Bev’s first grand baby Lincoln (right) got some news too! He’s training to be the #1 Big Brother this August. 

Got sumthin’ to brag about? Tell us!

Worth a visit.

“bwen vee-AH-hay” = “Good Trip”

Like so many phrases in Spanish, the two words combine to convey multiple meanings depending on the situation. “Safe journey” or “Travel safely” are two other ways to use the phrase. Similar to Bon Voyage in French!

Building Progress

Two more dreams underway John & Gigi, lot 36 owners (right) are designing their home while they are here visiting until April. A winter here instead of Canada sounds like a great choice. They will begin building once their design is complete and the plans are approved. Luis & Susan (right) built their casita on lot 46. They are still working so we don’t have a date yet for their big move. In the meantime it is available for rent. David on lot 57 has just begun a small remodel, enclosing his upper patio and has promised once completed he and his new bride Marta will be having lots of parties!

Come for a visit Stay for a lifestyle Enjoying the local flavor!

Time to relax. Bill & Marti purchased lot 51. They moved to Costa Rica in October. The construction on their home begins as soon as we get approval. Marti (left) lends a helping hand to the crew!

Rentals @ Vistas

Slow down and enjoy life Here’s what our latest guests had to say about our rentals. “We cannot say enough about this amazing place! It was magical, relaxing and serene The views from every window of the casita were spectacular and the people living in this community were wonderful, warm and welcoming. We felt like we were living in our own little slice of heaven, secluded on the hillside, underneath the towering trees where we were able to enjoy the monkeys and watch the toucans and parrots. We were even treated by viewing two pumas on the back hillside, which we were told is a rare sight. To sit on the porch and listen to the sounds of nature and admire the lovely view of the lake was like a chapter out of a good book. We were in awe of the serenity and beauty this casita had to offer. The surrounding area was beautiful and had everything one could need for an enjoyable and relaxing get a way. We felt like we had stepped back in time 50+ years by the simplistic living we encountered by the locals. It was enchanting. We had a hard time leaving this wonderful place and it was by far the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We plan on returning very soon! " 

“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” —Eddie Cantor (More) Building Progress

Two more dreams underway, cont.

Liberia or Los Catalinas

Brenda & Kevin did a bit of remodeling at their place on lot 15 and added a suite at the back of the garage (right). It came out lovely. They also enclosed the patio, so their home has a lot more space. Last but not least, we have the Hill family on lot 11 who just built their casita and will be moving here in August, 2014. Their son Brayden will attend high school in Tronadora. Once they settle in they will begin construction on the main home. Meanwhile, their daughter Emily and her fiancee James (far right below) are getting married February 28. Congratulations!  The seven lots left at VDL are waiting eagerly for new owners.
