Cream Cheese Squares Serves 12 Crust: 1 package butter cake mix ½ cup butter, room temperature 2 eggs, slightly beaten ¾ cup chopped pecans Topping: 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1 pound powdered sugar, sifted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all crust ingredients and pat into a 9” x 13” pan that has been well greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat in sugar until mixture is smooth. Add vanilla extract. Spread evenly over crust and bake for 15 minutes or until set. (Cake will rise and fall). Cool, then refrigerate. Sprinkle w/powdered sugar and cut into squares. Janet Dickman
