EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Margo: Honestly Margo is a bath and beauty brand where we create fun, fresh, and unique products for women of all ages. Our products range from lip balms to bath and body products, to therapeutic aromatherapy products, to fun things like lip glosses and lip tints, and our Unicorn line. We even offer a gift set that includes a clear stadium bag for women to use at concerts and sporting events. William: What have been the biggest challenges? Margo: One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is when people don’t take me seriously because I’m so young. I started Honestly Margo when I was 12 out of my kitchen. My mom and I’ve worked as a team to grow our brand, and when I was younger, it was more difficult for people to see this as a real business. As I’ve gotten older, and my brand has grown, people take me more seriously, but you can imagine the laughter I received as a young girl selling lip balm. William: How has your family supported you? Margo: My family has been the reason why Honestly Margo is here today. They were supportive of me from day one, and we’ve all worked together to help make it grow. Honestly Margo has evolved into a family business where each of us have designated roles. My mom and I work very closely together every day with day-to-day tasks and business development. My dad, Peter, manages our distribution center and logistics. Though working with your family can get messy sometimes, we still have a great time, and love what we do. William: What do your peers at school think of what you’re doing?
