oyce shares how she went from a housewife to a hair boss!
William Jackson: How did you get your start in the fashion and beauty industries? Joyce Giraud: At 16, I was discovered at my job in a fast food restaurant by a photographer. Shortly thereafter, I starred in numerous campaigns, commercials and magazine covers and was eventiually drawn to beauty competitions. As I modeled, I was able to finish my two Bachelor of Arts degrees at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico by the age of 19 — one in Social Work and one in Special Education. William: What are some of your most recognizable achievements in the entertainment industry? Joyce: After being crowned Miss Puerto Rico and placing as the second runner-up in the Miss Universe Pageant, I went on to pursue a career in entertainment. As an actress, I have been in films such as The Girl with the Dragon and in TV series including Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. In 2013, I joined the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where I received Bravo’s “Loveliest Locks” award, which inspired me to create the hit Latin show Rica Famosa Latina and its companion talk show Rica La Noche. William: What led you to create your own hair care line? Joyce: Throughout my travels, I made it my passion to hunt for the best and most unique products pertaining to beauty. It was in these exotic destinations that I discovered the amazing remedies of organic miracle oils. Eventually, the Miracle Elixer Collection was born. NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2018
