Along with mentorship, experience, job opportunities, and networking, some internship programs can also qualify for college credit. Your university advisers are the best people with whom to talk to make sure any internships you complete can be credited toward your degree plan. Be sure to discuss it first before starting because it may be not every internship will be accepted by your university. Even if you don’t receive college credit, many internships are still worth pursuing as it gives you a professional accomplishment and job to
put on your resume. Assuming you work hard and excel during your time at the company, the networking you did with your boss also gives you someone to ask for a letter of recommendation if needed for later on down the road for your next big job interview. Are you ready to get the ball rolling for your future? It’s never too early to apply for an internship. Although many companies prefer some experience or college courses completed, some places will take you on right out of high school, or even while still in high school. So, take a look at what positions are available, and if you don’t find any to apply for, reach out to companies you’re interested in, and see if they’d be willing to take you on.
