Smitten Kitten Cat Café

Love cats and coffee? Us, too! At Smitten Kitten Café, you can socialize, play and hang out with cats that are all available for adoption. At any given time, anticipate approximately 12 to 15 cats and kittens in the cat lounge — all available for adoption. The first cat café in Hamilton County, the café’s mission is to find loving homes for its cats by its partner Humane Society of Hamilton County.

There is no charge to visit the cafe, and you can peruse the cat lounge through a big glass window. The café offers coffee and tea through a partnership with Noble Coffee & Tea Co., and the snacks and baked goods come from various local businesses, including Tina’s Traditional.

If you choose to enter the cat lounge to visit with the cats, there is a fee. The half-hour ($10) or hour-long ($18) per person fee covers the cost of employing their staff and providing the cats with a healthy, safe, free-roaming environment. The friendly staff will remind all guests about the house rules (e.g. no running, jumping, screaming or chasing after cats). They allow up to 15 people in at a time, and there are ample places to sit and relax amid the cats.

The cat lounge has a clean, modern feel. From a 9-foot faux tree to hexagonal wall-mounted climbers, the cage-free peaceful environment is the perfect place to relax and play. (And if the adoptable cats are lucky, they will hopefully find their fur-ever human to go home with.) The space offers plenty of toys to entice the cats, and even brushes to give them cuddly grooming care.

If interested in a cat that you meet at the Smitten Kitten Cat Café, you apply directly to the Humane Society. Once approved, payment goes directly to the Human Society and families participate in a quick interview to make sure that your chosen cat is the best cat for your family. After the interview, you can immediately return to Smitten Kitten Cat Café to take your new family member home. Adoption fees range from $25 to $100, depending on the cat’s age.
