PAST RESIDENT LETTER

NOVEMBER 2022

As a past resident of Waterloo and Queen Street Estate, we thought you would be interested in this update about the progress at the site. Progress so far Demolition at the site has now been completed and construction will start by early summer 2023 (indicative date). In the coming months, we will be building a wider entrance to Queen Street at the junction with London Road, to allow for larger construction vehicles to access the site. We continue to finalise the detail of the building design ready to secure the building contracts. For neighbouring residents currently living close to the site, we keep them up to date on the scheme and they have opportunities to raise any concerns they may have. We recently invited them to discuss ideas for meanwhile use on the site for the community to enjoy (more on that below) To get updates about our development, please visit the ‘story so far’ and ‘what’s happening next’ section on Waterloo and Queen Street at www.havering.gov.uk/12sites Meanwhile use Back in October, we invited neighbours close to the site to a meeting with the Joint Venture partners, Havering Council and Wates, to discuss proposals for a new community garden project, on a part of the estate we have set aside for 'meanwhile use'. Residents were able to develop ideas on the design of the project. We would like you to get involved too! Please email Regeneration@havering.gov.uk Your Right to Return As we approach the build phase of the programme, we want to check whether you still want the option to return to the new homes once they are ready. Please let us know if you are still interested by emailing us at Regeneration@havering.gov.uk
