SOLAR, SERENA & SUNRISE COURT REGENERATION PROJECT NEWSLETTER

Wates Residential is working in partnership with Havering Council to deliver over 3,000 much needed new homes within the borough, 175 of which will be situated at Solar, Serena and Sunrise Court. We are committed to leaving a positive lasting legacy for the entire community! Team Update Team Welcome to the fifth edition of the Solar, Serena and Sunrise Court site newsletter. This is designed to keep you, our neighbours, informed about the activities taking place on site throughout this development. We continue to work on the design of the development and look forward to starting the construction phase on site soon.

Site Overview The Solar, Serena and Sunrise Court development is designed for those aged 55+ who are nearing or enjoying retirement. The accommodation will comprise of one bedroom apartments for social rent and one and two bedroom apartments for private sale. All apartments will be suitable for downsizers looking for smaller homes but still wishing to live within a thriving and friendly neighbourhood. The scheme has been designed with a strong focus on green space, letting nature in and providing public areas for meeting, resting and community activities, bringing new and existing neighbours together in a space where everyone can be proud to live.


Current works   

Completion of piling platform to each of the 5 blocks Temporary sub-station, site power and water supplies Setting up main site welfare and offices

Upcoming works        

Starting at the end of September will be the piling works to instal 20-25m deep piles for the foundations of the buildings The piling works will run for approx. 2 months and involve 2 rigs and attendance from excavators and small plant There will be daily deliveries of concrete for these works Removal of the old small office set up and generator prepare to start the removal of the old road to the South of the site Installation of CCTV to the full boundary Actual foundation digs will start towards the end of October The project will be working from South to North on the drawing to the left

Community Involvement Due to CoVid-19, many of our employment and skills initiatives are being delivered online. If you, a friend or family member are interested in a career in construction, our free three week ‘Construct a Career’ preemployment programme is currently being delivered virtually and is a great introduction to the industry.
