SOLAR, SERENA & SUNRISE COURT REGENERATION PROJECT NEWSLETTER

Wates Residential is working in partnership with Havering Council to deliver over 3,000 much needed new homes within the borough, 175 of which will be situated at Solar, Serena, and Sunrise Court. We are committed to leaving a positive legacy for the entire community!

Team Update Team Welcome to the ninth edition of the Solar, Serena, and Sunrise Court site newsletter. This is designed to keep you, our neighbours, informed about the activities taking place on site throughout this development.

Site Overview The Solar, Serena and Sunrise Court development is designed for those aged 55+ who are nearing or enjoying retirement. The accommodation will comprise of one bedroom apartments for social rent and one and two bedroom apartments for private sale. All apartments will be suitable for downsizers looking for smaller homes but still wishing to live within a thriving and friendly neighbourhood.


Current works          

Ongoing underground & Internal services to all blocks Block A façade works and internal fit out Block B façade works and internal fit out Block C façade works and internal fit out Block D frame complete and façade underway Block E frame complete and façade underway Sub Station works and new HV (electrical) supply to site ongoing Roofing on blocks A, B and E now underway Bathroom Pods are in all blocks now Scaffolds and hoists still in progress on Blocks C D E

Upcoming works          

Block A fit out and scaffold strike Block B fit out and scaffold strike Block C fit out and complete scaffold Block D complete scaffold and continue façade Block E complete scaffold and continue façade Commence fit out in Block E Sub Station works live for the HV supply Roofing onto all blocks Balcony installation on A and B External works will commence early 2023 from Block A and B end towards Parkhill Close

Community Involvement Social Value Delivery recently includes: -

Wates attended Diversity Day at Hornchurch High where LGBT, minority and disability staff shared their personal experiences, and the support they’ve received at Wates.

SSS hosted a site visit for residents with disabilities, explaining how construction is a welcoming environment for long-term out-of-work candidates.

Wates attended Havering Community Funday in Hornchurch, sharing the 12 Estates Joint Venture plan.

Charlotte joined the SSS Site team for Bricklayer work experience, on a hands-on placement with a mock interview, career advice, and PPE to help kick-start her career.

Staff attended the Harold Hill Community Hub Careers Fair, sharing live on-site job opportunities
