Michel Peters: “I think Airbus and Boeing produce forty aircrafts every month”

Accreditation The NLR received a CIR accreditation from the French ministry for Education and Science. This is a French quality label for institutions and organisations which have shown their qualities in the field of R&D. The Crédit d’Impôt Recherche (CIR) is aimed at French companies which outsource their R&D to an organisation such as the NLR. The tax advantages for French clients of CIR accredited organisations are considerable: 30 percent of their R&D expenses are tax-deductible, up to an upper limit of €100 million. In this respect, France has one of the most attractive regulations in Europe. A broad range of R&D costs (salaries and laboratory costs) qualify for this. The NLR obtained the CIR accreditation thanks to research work for the French company SNECMA (Société Nationale d’Études et de Construction de Moteurs d’Aviation). This research consisted of measurements to establish radial and azimuthal modes in a ring-shaped channel behind a low pressure turbine. In order to do this, the NLR designed and manufactured a “pressure rake”, which is built into the client’s test equipment. The measurements are performed by an NLR/SNECMA team in Villaroche, France.
