Soliloquy, Projector, water tank, handmade lamps, saree, and bangles, 60 x 48 inches floor video installation, 2013 Soliloquy is a series of participatory work about ‘self-talking’ and ‘deep listening’ in relation to class, gender and ethnicity. Here through metaphors and symbolization, the film attempts to touch upon the interrelationship between south Asian ritual practices and patriarchy. To bring out the irony of victim’s life, the film builds upon the verse composed by medieval Indian saint poet Kabir “Jal bich meen pyaasi” which literally means “fish remains thirsty in the water”. 129
