Meet our new GHC staff members

Misti Smith, Membership & Social Media Coordinator

Misti has lived in Waco for over 30 years. She met her husband, Shane at Baylor University where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. Misti spent 28 years raising children and serving as the consummate volunteer with organizations including Meals on Wheels, PTA and the American Cancer Society. Most recently, she worked at a local advertising company.

Misti and Shane have been married for 30 years and have three boys—Jake,

Josh and Jackson. They also enjoy two granddaughters, Scout and Sloane, who are their world. Misti loves to travel and is an avid sports fan. She is an active member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and most enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Jake Smith, Membership & Social Media Coordinator

Jake was born and raised in Waco, graduating from Midway High School in 2012. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. After college, Jake was a full-time competitive cheerleading coach at Cheer Athletics in Plano. Most recently, he was a high school math teacher and cheerleading coach. He also graduated in 2021 with a Masters of Education in Coaching and Sports Administration from Concordia University Texas.

In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his two dogs. He is an active member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and its Young Adult ministry. Jake enjoys all sporting events, attends concerts regularly, and enjoys CrossFit at Train Waco most weekdays.
