Der Hals hat die Form eines grotesken Frauenkopfes. Auf dem Corpus gegen den Uhrzeigersinn ein Thiasos: links neben dem Henkel marschiert Pan an der Spitze des Zuges, ihm folgen nach links ein Silen, der einen Panther an der Leine führt, ein Satyr, der den trunkenen Dionysos stützt, und ein weiterer Satyr mit Lagobolon sowie eine Mänade mit Tympanon. Auf der Unterseite ein Blätterkranz. Rotbrauner Überzug an einigen Stellen verrieben, sonst intakt. 5.000,–

Roman mouldmade one-handle lagynos with lentoid corpus. Terra sigillata. North Africa, 3rd - 4th century A.D. The neck has the form of a grotesque head of a woman. On the corpus anticlockwise a relief with a dionysic thiasos: at the head of the pageant Pan followed by Silenos who is walking a panther on a lead, behind a satyr who supports the drunken Dionysos, at the end a further satyr with lagobolon and a maenad with tympanon. Underneath a circle of leaves. The redbrown slip is partially rubbed off, otherwise intact.
