110 • Römischer Lagynos mit Reliefdekor. Asia Minor, 3. Jh. n. Chr. H 18,6cm, Ø 19,3cm. Knidische Reliefware. Formgetöpfert. Einhenkelige Flasche mit linsenförmigem Corpus und plastischem Hals. Der Hals hat die Form eines grotesken Männerkopfes mit Schnurrbart. Auf dem Corpus ein Fries von Götterköpfen und -büsten sowie deren Attribute. Links neben dem Henkel Jupiter mit Blitz, im Uhrzeigersinn folgen Merkur mit Caduceus, Mars mit Schild und Lanze, Luna mit Zepter, Sol Invictus mit Peitsche und Saturn mit Harpa, rechts neben dem Henkel eine alte und eine junge sitzende Frau (Jugend und Alter?). Auf der Unterseite ein Blätterkranz. Brauner Überzug an einigen Stellen verrieben, sonst intakt. 5.000,–

Roman mouldmade one-handle lagynos with lentoid corpus. Cnidian relief ware. Asia Minor, 3rd century A.D. The neck has the form of a grotesque head of a man with moustache. On the corpus a relief with heads and busts of gods and their attributes. Left of the handle Jupiter with thunderbolt, clockwise are following Mercury with caduceus, Mars with shield and spear, Luna with scepter, Sol Invictus with whip, and Saturn with harpa, right of the handle a young and an old sitting woman (youth and seniority?). Underneath a circle of leaves. The brown slip is rubbed off at few spots, otherwise intact.
