182 • Kopf der Artemis Selene. Späthellenistisch - frühe Kaiserzeit, 1. Jh. v. Chr. - 1. Jh. n. Chr. Bronzehohlguss, H 10,5cm. Jugendlicher Einsatzkopf mit langem, lockigen Haar, das in der Mitte gescheitelt ist und in üppigen Locken die Schläfen hinabläuft bis es im Nacken zu einem kurzen Pferdeschwanz zusammengenommen ist. Auf dem Scheitel ist der Rest eines Loches zu finden, in dem die Mondsichel eingesetzt war. Prachtvoller späthellenistischer Stil! Herrliche braune Patina mit grünen Einsprengseln, intakt. 40.000,–

Artemis 906 ff. Under life size head of Artemis Selene wearing long, wavy hair tied to a short ponytail at the back. Eyes inlaid in silver with the pupil missing (or empty). On the top of the head insertion hole for the (now missing) crescent. The head is prepared to be inserted into a statue. Late Hellenistic or early Roman Imperial Period. 1st century B.C. - 1st century A.D. Beautiful patina, intact. Gorgeous late hellenistic style!
