worldOutgames & Antwerp Pride 2013

2013 promises to be a memorable year for the LGBT community in Antwerp. Not only will we be celebrating our 6th annual Antwerp Pride, but this year the worldOutgames will be taking place at the same time and will no doubt be leaving a permanent footprint in our beloved city.

‘The Declaration of Antwerp’. Over the ensuing 12 days a sports programme with 35 different sports will unfold, with over 5.000 competitors registered so far. During the last weekend of the worldOutgames, from 8 August onwards, the annual Antwerp Pride will take place, thus making it the climax of the entire festivities.

Antwerp 'Sports Capital 2013' This year Antwerp is the European Capital of Sport. With a whole year filled with local and international sport initiatives, it seems only logical that the worldOutgames have also found their way to the city of diamonds.

The parade on Saturday August 10 will therefore be given a ‘sporting’ look. Participants may, but do not have to, wear their favourite sporting outfit. We are looking forward to this cocktail of sports and fun, and naturally to welcoming those athletes who will be joining the parade.
