the world, but many people in several countries are not that fortunate and encounter difficulties, pain and treatment because they are different. I see it as a moral duty to support and inspire them in their struggle for dignity, so they can go back home and plant some seeds of hope.
What’s so special about Antwerp? Antwerp is the most vibrant LGBT city in Belgium and also has a strong international lifestyle brand. A city is a place where people come and go which results in a certain chemistry. In Antwerp you can almost taste the New York of the 15th, & 16th centuries and the fact that we have all those global assets like the diamond industry, fashion and art, makes that people like to visit the city, both for business and for pleasure. Events like the Pride and the Outgames offer the city that extra touch that makes it appealing. If a city wants to make a statement regarding fashion, culture and diversity, you need to involve the gay community. They’re the ones that often set the trend. Open-heartedness is both on a humanitarian as on an economical level a “must-do”, and Antwerp is working quite hard to achieve that goal.
