Antwerp-born French-speaking novelist Georges Eekhoud (1854-1927) was among the first to write about homosexuality in a sympathetic way. In 1900 this resulted in a notorious lawsuit. The worldOutgames are a splendid occasion for the very first retrospective on Eekhoud’s life and works, the homosexual aspect of his books, the lawsuit, and his bonds with pioneers such as Magnus Hirschfeld, Oscar Wilde, Jacques d’Adelswärd-Fersen, Jacob Israël de Haan…
