Workshop on IBM DB2

This event was then followed by handing over of the Award for the Best Rotaractors to Mr. Chinmay Joshi and Mr Apoorv Kumar Khare. An acceptance speech by the President Rotaract club and introduction of the new team of office bearers was done followed by the club announcements by the Secretary Rotaract Club. The event successfully ended with the speech of the chief Guest, Mr. Lovy Khosla in which he thanked fellow members for their dedication towards the club and a formal vote of thanks by Mrs. Vinnie Mathur by presenting mementos to the chief guest. The whole event ended with a national anthem beautifully sung by all the Rotarians and Rotractors. A huge response was received by the donors at blood donation camp with the collection of about 300 units of blood. So, in the nutshell Rotoract club proved once again that “Humanity Has No Boundaries”. Our sincere thanks to Rotarian Rahul Mehra for his constant support and guidance.

In order to enhance employability and make students Industry ready, a 3-day IBM DB2 9 workshop was organized at the campus of Galgotias University from 18th to 20th October. 80 students from MCA and M.Tech along with 5 faculty members participated in the workshop. The workshop taught relational database concepts while also provided students with critical, hands-on database skills on IBM’s DB2. Shortly certification will also be conducted and successful students will be identified as IBM Certified Database Associate. Conduction of IBM DB2 workshop was a first step in the direction of setting up IBM Software Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Galgotias University.
