AGUINALDO SHRINE

THE AGUINALDO SHRINE houses the memorabilia of the country’s first president and revolutionary war hero. The ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo is now a museum dedicated not only to him but also to some of the biggest battles of the revolutionary war in the province.

The property was donated to the Philippine Government in 1964, a year before Aguinaldo’s death. It is best known as the site where the Philippine flag was first presented to our countrymen on July 12, 1898, signaling the country’s declaration of independence from its Spanish colonizers.

The museum houses some of the late president’s memorabilia and gives visitors a peek at the life of Aguinaldo. There are also interactive exhibits and dioramas commemorating some of the biggest battles in the province during the revolution.

This iconic landmark is a must-visit for history junkies or just curious minds who want to learn more about our rich history. Entrance is free for everyone, but for big groups such as school field trips, it’s recommended that you call ahead to schedule and coordinate your visit.
