Hello Spring page 18

Employee of the Month

What's happening at FJ HQ this month Between enrolling in (and not attending) Bikram yoga classes, this is what we’ve been up to... Melbourne Spring Fashion Week prep We couldn’t be more excited for the end of winter. Not only because we hate being cold, but because Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is almost upon us. Once again, we’ve teamed up with the City of Melbourne as a media partner. To help get you in the mood, this issue gives you a look at the some of our fave pieces that’ll be on the runway (pg 18). We’ve also put together a volunteer’s survival guide and slipped the full MSFW program inside the mag.

My name is... Eliza Sholly. I’m a… legend and editorial intern. If I was a colour I’d be… definitely black. The funniest joke I know is… my bank balance. The TV show I binge watch is... Workaholics. My dad says I… spend too much money. I hate it when… people don't appreciate puns. The Harry Potter character I’m most like is… Buckbeak ’cos I’m sassy AF. If I was in the Olympics it would be for... being a WAG. My ultimate party jam is… anything Black Eyed Peas. The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten is… canned bread in Tokyo. If I could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, it would be... Rihanna, 100%. The biggest issue facing the world right now is… that you can't get $10 out of an ATM. My secret talent is… napping. But it's not that secret. In my spare time I… learn the lyrics to complex rap songs.

Supporting ’Straya FJ HQ has been pretty patriotic these last few weeks. And yes, we did set up a livestream of the Olympics in the office. Because nothing makes us happier than watching people do sport while we sit at our desks eating chocolate. Street style stalking All the NYE festival announcements have been getting us very excited. To get you ready, we’ve recapped the best street style moments from this year’s SITG (pg 58). It’s never too early to start planning your outfits.

The Scoop

National Gallery of Victoria Continuing an impressive run of world-class exhibitions, the NGV’s latest showcase has been announced. Opening September 30, Italian Jewels: Bulgari Style will feature iconic jewellery from the Bulgari Heritage Collection, drawing mainly from the Dolce Vita period of the ’50s and ’60s. Over 80 pieces that adorned the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly will be presented, alongside film and photography, exploring Bulgari’s connection to Hollywood and Italian Cinema. ngv.vic.gov.au

Leowulff As if we needed another reason to buy more bags. Thanks to North Collective, we can now get our hands on a whole new range of Scandinavian handbags from Danish label, Leowulff. The brand focuses on classic styles, so we can avoid the nasties of fast fashion and embrace forward-thinking Danish design. Think simple, elegant and timeless pieces with pops of Scandi-inspired blue and pink. northcollective.com.au

Tommy Hilfiger

Vanishing Elephant Vanishing Elephant is answering our prayers, taking cues from the bedroom for its latest collection. Aptly named Asleep, the drop sees the soft fabrics we’d expect from loungewear take the form of dresses and trousers. In soft greys, charcoals and classic blue and white pyjama stripes, the collection is cosy in every way. And, as the wintry chills roll into sunshine, we’re secretly (OK, openly) hoping the pyjama trend continues taking over our wardrobes. vanishingelephant.com

Tommy Hilfiger has officially dropped its Spring/ Summer ’16 campaign and it is everything we want our summer to be. The campaign sees a fresh-faced Behati Prinsloo star alongside a sunkissed team of abs male models, on what appears to be the tropical island of our dreams. As for the clothes, flowing silhouettes and relaxed tailoring dominate, while unbuttoned styling and a mix of nautical and tropical prints make us feel like we’re practically on holiday. Now, Piña Colada please. tommy.com

Vespa We’ve always associated Vespa with dreams of scooting around Florence with the wind in our hair and sun on our skin. Though to be honest, we’d settle for riding one to and from work. With 2016 marking Vespa’s 70th anniversary, the Italian brand has undergone a makeover. An all-new Australian website has been unveiled, giving you easy access to all things Vespa (like your local dealership, so you can pay it a visit). The new site is a modern symbol of the youthful and fun nature of the iconic brand. Here’s to another 70 years. vespa.com.au

INDUSTRY – CREATIVE COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION Event partners “I know my Carla Zampatti from my Camilla,” I say

to myself as I head to my Melbourne Spring Fashion Week volunteer induction. Unfortunately, the hole I just found in the crotch of my pants is doing nothing to help my fashion cred.

It’s moments like these I fear for my career in the fashion industry. Not only have I already experienced a sartorially mortifying moment, but I’m also a Supporting partners newbie volunteer. Even though I’m glowing with unbridled enthusiasm, I’m also quietly freaking out at the thought of accidentally ushering Nadia Bartel to the back row. To calm my nerves, I spoke with seasoned Fashion Week volunteer and stylist, Carlos Mangubat. Together, we compiled a list of survival tips Bear Grylls would be proud of. It’s time to grow thick skin Program Everyone sayspartners it because it’s the truth. In the busiest week of the fashion calendar, spouts of moodiness are inevitable. “Emotions are high at Fashion Week. There are always dramas, disasters and heightened personalities,” says Carlos.

It’s important not to take things personally, even if you’re at the receiving end of a designer’s fury. Fashion people remember EVERYTHING As with any job, act with integrity and respect your workplace.

Conversely, you will be remembered for working hard. If you’re in it for more than the free T-shirt, put your hand up for extra work and ask if anyone needs help.

The backstage buzz is like a drug If watching the show from the front (ahem, fifth) row is whimsical, the sensation from backstage must be otherworldly. “The energy of backstage is something that you can't replace. The buzz I get being backstage is still something that thrills me today,” says Carlos. It’s a good one to remember when you’re backstage taping shoes, cursing for signing yourself up.

were made when he was asked to style his own show for Jack London last year. “It is what you make it. If you work hard, you’ll get noticed and rewarded. People won't hand anything to you on a platter,” says Carlos.

It’s time to master the art of layering “I wore two tops so the volunteer one wouldn't smell,” says Carlos. A practical tip to lessen the laundry load and keep you feeling fresh. By wearing a top underneath your volunteer tee you’ll minimise washing inbetween shifts and it’ll add an extra layer of warmth if you have to work outside.

Worlds Apart

BY AMY CAMPBELL

“Yeah, everyone in Latvia knew the lyrics to our songs!” laughs Sophie. “Which we thought was crazy because geographically, it was the farthest place from New York that we performed. We love that we can perform to an audience anywhere in the world, and it instantly feels like a community.” I have no doubt that attending a Sofi Tukker show would have you feeling part of the club. They defy the traditional set-up of dance music shows and prefer to spend their time teaching choreography to the crowd, so everyone can ‘move together’. “We want our music to be inclusive,” explains Sophie.

Straight out of NYC, this dance duo is making music that merges the worlds of ‘untz untz’ and acoustic. You know the song. It’s the one with that deliciously catchy guitar riff and lyrics spoken in Portuguese, like a chant. It’s the song you think of when you fantasize about dancing the night away at a balmy beach club in Ibiza. It was the backing track to an Apple Watch commercial and designer Simon Miller’s NYFW Spring 2016 show. Heck, if you could pick the soundtrack to your life, this would probably be it. But who are the people behind it? Meet Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, more commonly known as Sofi Tukker. The duo quite literally danced their way into New York a little over a year ago, and have been making magic in the form of dance music ever since. The song I’m talking about is called ‘Drinkee’, and it’s the opening track to their newly released EP, Soft Animals. I can tell Sophie and Tucker are polar opposites from the moment our Skype call connects. A Boston native, Tucker has bleach-blonde hair and looks like the type of guy you’d expect to find behind a turntable, casually raising the roof. Meanwhile, Sophie exudes a calming sense of wisdom, the type you can only find in an avid yoga-doer who’s lived in at least five different countries to date.

When they’re not playing sold out shows, they’re getting distracted by the energy of New York, dancing from nightclub to nightclub, often to discover the resident DJ remixing one of their songs. The two met while studying at Brown University, Rhode Island. Sophie was playing in a bossa nova band when Tucker approached her and asked if he could remix her music.

“When that happens, it’s kind of surreal. I just stand back in the corner and watch,” laughs Tucker. I think to myself: ‘Is it going off ? Is it popping? Are people dancing out there?’”

“Her music was beautiful, but painstakingly slow!” Tucker tells me. “When we started, she knew nothing about house music and I knew nothing about Portuguese or acoustic music… and I still don’t,” he says, laughing.

“This one time we were in a restaurant and our song came on, and the people on the table next to us held out their phones and started to Shazam it,” says Sophie. “We were like, ‘is this really happening?’”

“But that’s not the point,” Sophie chimes in. “The fact we each pursue our different musical interests lifts the band up. And when we hit that sweet spot and meet at that weird place in the middle,” she says, “that place is Sofi Tukker.” Perhaps that’s the reason Sofi Tukker have hit it off like they have. They don’t sound like every other dance duo out there. Their music has a global feel, it’s like an international language you don’t need to be able to read to understand. “We just performed at a bunch of festivals in Europe, and Latvia was probably our favourite place to play,” says Tucker.

It’s happening. And it’s happening fast. Sofi Tukker are constantly working on new stuff, and as they finish each other’s sentences, they assure me they’re not about to rest on their laurels. “The EP is a good introduction to our brains, but our new stuff is even cooler,” boasts Tucker. “Like, Sophie screams in a track. Sophie’s never screamed before in her life!” Apparently, if we want to see them play Down Under, we need to let them know. So Spotify their EP and follow them on SoundCloud – we might just get a show. sofitukker.com

Party of the Season

NANA JUDY has been having a pretty stellar year. Its success has been on the rise, with the brand securing a stronghold throughout Australia (in Myer and LIVE), and continuing its US takeover (it recently launched in Bloomingdales). Oh, and it’s thrown some pretty great parties too. On the off chance you’re not a VIP, you might have missed the super exclusive bash NANA JUDY threw in Byron Bay last month. And while Kendall and Leo may not have made an appearance – like at the brand's famous Coachella party – familiar faces Mick Fanning, Kate Peck, Firass Dirani and Olympia Valance attended. Held at a private estate overlooking the stunning Byron Hinterland, the party also saw Hayden James fly in via helicopter to perform. So yeah, ‘exclusive’ pretty much covers it.

34

Coors was flowing and NANA JUDY teamed up with Tinder to bring the fun, which was all captured by photographer, Life Without Andy. “It was the perfect vibe and setting, everyone was having a great time and that’s what it’s all about,” said NANA JUDY founder, Glenn Coleman. There really is nothing like an extravagant 25-acre property to set the scene for the party of the season.

01 Dot & Co.

When it comes to homewares, there's often much of a muchness out there. Show us one more marble cross that serves no practical purpose and we may well scream. Thankfully Dot & Co is doing things differently. The ceramics label is fighting against a massmanufactured aesthetic, instead focusing on details such as pattern and texture. Pieces are handmade locally by artist Jane Kelsey and are built sturdy, for everyday use. The results speak for themselves. The range currently spans stoneware pouring bowls and little bottle vases, as well as everyday pieces such as plates and citrus juicers. Trust us on this one. shop-dotandco.com

03 Ernest and Joe

Mother-daughter-brother trio – Sally, Mia and Luke – make up the hands behind jewellery label, Ernest and Joe. Based in Geelong, the label is delivering the kind of dainty jewellery that dreams are made of. Each piece is handmade, hand-cut and hand-filed so that no two are ever the same. Stackable rings, fine necklaces and delicate studs are crafted in sterling silver, rose and yellow gold. What’s more, each silver product is made using 100 per cent recycled Australian silver. They even customise orders, as if the pieces weren’t unique enough already. ernestandjoe.com

02 Black the Label

Black the Label brings together the ideas of two women, to form a brand with a minimal and modern vision. All designs are Australian-made and complement existing trends with their timeless and versatile nature. Created with premium fabrics, the label mixes essential pieces with unique statement styles for a fresh take on streetwear. The AW16 collection nods to the ’70s, with flared sleeves, visible stitching and choker necklines, across frayed denim and delicate knits. If you need some help pulling your outfit together, Black the Label also offers personal styling to complete your look. blackthelabel.com.au

07 SIG the Label

Sydney-based label, momoke, makes simple jewellery with soul. Designer Em Watson crafts one-off pieces by hand, using ethically sourced metal and gemstones to eliminate the guilt factor. Adding a mark of uniqueness, each creation boasts small imperfections as a result of the handmade process. Em’s line includes necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings at affordable prices, meaning you can indulge in a dainty ring or two for each finger. The guys aren’t left out either, with unisex rings in battered metals. A little dent and scratch never looked so good. momoke.com.au

The fabulous thing about vintage shopping is discovering one-off pieces. But there’s nothing quite as devastating as missing out on that plaid pinafore or turtleneck crop all because it doesn’t fit. Canberra-based label, Things We Lost, is making this a thing of the past. The brainchild of vintage store Landspeed Records, Things We Lost designs a range of practical vintage-inspired pieces in a variety of sizes. The line features all the fabrics, cuts and patterns that we adore in vintage styles but allows us to ask ‘do you have this in another size?’ And once you find that piece, Things We Lost will ship it to you for free. thingswelost.com.au

We love being comfy with what we wear, so obviously our wardrobes are filled with cotton tees, loose-fitting basics and natural fibres. That’s why Uncle May has caught our attention. The newly-launched label focuses on crafting luxe bamboo, linen and cotton tops for women. And they feel damn good to wear. Designed in Melbourne with wearability in mind, Uncle May’s offering proves that simple is best. And if that didn’t sound nice enough, Uncle May donates five per cent of its online purchases to This Life Cambodia, in support of communities in need. unclemay.com

With its name an abbreviation of So It Goes, SIG the Label takes a relaxed approach to everyday dressing. Each piece achieves the perfect balance between clean tailoring and fluid shapes, with the collection made to be layered. The label debuted at last year’s Adelaide Fashion Festival, so is a relative newcomer to the fashion scene. But with designer Kate Anderson at the helm (previous head designer of Finders Keepers), you know to expect great things. You can catch SIG the Label at Adelaide Fashion Festival once again, when it rolls around in October. soitgoesthelabel.com.au

Emma Morgan

Mary & Sally

Mornington Peninsula-based artist, Emma Morgan, has combined a love of animals and a talent for figure drawing to create an adorable collection of prints. The Monash University visual arts graduate uses her predominantly pigment ink-pen drawings to explore our relationship with the creatures around us. You’ll find most of Emma’s drawings in black and white, with the occasional splash of watercolour to add a burst of brightness. Emma’s drawings aren’t just for your walls. You can order her prints on tote bags, cards, cushions and kitchenware. Though it’s cute and all, you’re also supporting Emma’s plan to help endangered wildlife in the future. emmamorgan.com.au

Long-time besties, Mary and Sally, are proving nothing but good can come out of a strong friendship. The Sydney-based duo creates greeting cards and prints to suit every occasion, from life’s grand celebrations to its little achievements. The designs don’t feature quotes you see everywhere: they’re a little more personal and a whole lot of special. Mixing typography, hand lettering and illustrations, they look just as pretty framed on a mantelpiece as they do for a birthday gift. With words of encouragement and inspiration, your desk/bedroom/kitchen update is sorted. maryandsally.etsy.com

Marvelle Deb and Dave are great friends and even greater interior photographers and stylists. Together, they have turned their longstanding passion into a business: Marvelle. The brand combines the duo’s original prints and styling prowess to create beautiful, bespoke, harmonious spaces to live and work in. Each image is printed on archival cotton and professionally framed in Melbourne. Images are nostalgic and calming – think tonal landscapes and animals – with custom works available for individuals, stylists and businesses. Marvelle will be at The Finders Keepers and The Big Design Markets with 50% off floor stock, meaning you can score a massive 1000mm x 1000mm framed print for a tiny $480. Beauty Buys Napoleon Perdis

New this month.

Napoleon Perdis is looking out for the lipstick lovers among us, with the release of NP Matte Lip Ink. You read that right. Lip. Ink. It goes on like gloss with a sponge applicator, but dries with a lightweight and matte feel. Finally, someone gets it. napoleonperdis.com

VICE LIPSTICK $28

Urban Decay has never done anything by halves and its latest release proves just that. The makeup favourite has just dropped – wait for it – 100 new shades of its signature Vice lipstick. It’s like Christmas come early, with six different textures to experiment with. They’re obviously looking out for us, too. Each lipstick is rich in antoxidants, with added aloe vera and avocado for silky soft lips. Urban Decay has also paired the release with a line of 50 (yes, 50) lip liner shades to perfectly match your new lip colour. mecca.com.au

Napoleon Says... It’s easy to get stuck in a makeup comfort zone, but playing with lipstick is an easy way to mix things up. We asked makeup king, Napoleon Perdis, for some tips on getting your lips as poppin’ as a Lil Mama song. COLOUR CORRECTING STICKS $34 EACH

Ever tried covering up a blemish with concealer? Of course you have. We’re preaching to the choir when we say we’re yet to find a product that really covers them correctly. We’re pinning our hopes on the new Colour Correcting Sticks from Smashbox. Each shade is designed to address a specific skin condition. Before you apply foundation, take the green stick to your red spots, lavender to the yellow parts and conceal those notorious work-induced (Netflix-induced) dark circles with the peach and orange sticks. It’s easy as pie. mecca.com.au

RED LIP Pair it with: a nude eye and black or blue mascara, peachy blush and a defined brow. Must-have product: DeVine Goddess lipstick in Aphrodite. How to: Begin by tapping a small amount of gold eyeshadow on the cupids bow to highlight the lips. Next, generously coat a lip brush with red lipstick. Start your application from the outer corners and work your way in. Line lips last using a sharpened red lip pencil. This will ensure the lip edge looks clean and crisp and provides longevity. Tip: If you accidentally overdraw the lips, simply use a cotton tip with a touch of primer to remove excess.

NUDE LIP

RY.com.au is getting really good at giving the people what they want. The online beauty retailer just released a new list of brands available at its online store, and it gets a big tick from us. For those who like a little exclusivity, Endota, Poni Cosmetics, Salt Skincare and Curtis Collection are also available, exclusive to RY.com.au. Best bit: you can enjoy super fast shipping since it’s all Aussie-owned. Time to stop stalking the postie. RY.com.au

PONI COSMETICS THE WHITE KNIGHT MASCARA $30

RY.com.au

Pair it with: luminous skin and a neutral eye. Or you can smoke it up with sexy dark chocolates, smudgy black liner and lashings of mascara. Must-have product: DeVine Goddess lipstick in Clio. Tip: The beauty of a nude lip is that it looks natural. It can be worn on its own or you can pump up the volume using a clear or matching nude lip gloss.

BROWN LIP Pair it with: gold or copper eyeshadow and finish with a generous coat of mascara. Keep it simple and let your lips do the talking. Must-have product: DeVine Goddess lipstick in Thalia. How to: To keep your brown lipstick on all day, begin by applying a matching brown lip liner all over. Next, add your lipstick to a lip brush and start your application from the outer corners, working your way towards the centre of the lip. Line lips again to ensure your lipstick doesn’t move, and to keep the edges crisp and clean. napoleonperdis.com

THE HUNT SYDNEY

ALL THE BUILDINGS IN MELBOURNE

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

Jasmine Crittenden

James Gulliver Hancock

J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne

The Hunt could easily be pinned as a travel guide, but that's not exactly an accurate description. Mostly because The Hunt is not for tourists. Instead, it’s for people who want to explore the heart of a city, living like a local would. Written by local musician/ writer Jasmine Crittenden, the pocket book walks non-Sydneysiders through the best independent coffee spots, bars, boutiques, delis, beaches and hotels in each area. It’s kind of like that friend who takes you to all the coolest local joints, except The Hunt won’t offer to pay your bill at the end.

Melbourne is a beautiful city. With the Gold Rush of the 1850s came a huge influx of money, turning Melbourne into one of the world’s wealthiest cities. And with that came architecture. Now James Gulliver Hancock is on a mission to draw all the buildings in the city. Fascinated by Melbourne’s history and the architectural juxtaposition of old and new, he is using illustration to immortalise his perceptions. For those who tend not to look up, it’s pretty interesting to see these buildings out of context – like I once was blind, but now I see. Recommended for anyone who lives in Melbourne/likes architecture.

I like to think of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as the spinoff to the main gig. It’s the Joey to the series’ Friends, the Better Call Saul to its Breaking Bad. Yes, it’s mildly enjoyable, but it doesn’t come close to satisfying your want for more Harry Potter. Because it’s not really Harry Potter, is it? It’s more like Aldi, where the HP series is your Woolies/Coles. The format is slightly different and despite featuring all the key players, something feels strangely ‘off ’. Perhaps it’s the fact that Malfoy is a good guy or that the book is actually a play. Either way, I have very mixed feelings and I’m not sure what to think. It’s good, I guess?

GLORIOUS HEIGHTS

Safia

Montaigne

Opening with a Lemonadeinducing feminist speech that could raise the arm hairs of anyone with a soul, Dev Hynes delivers the most surprising album of 2016. And the revelations don’t stop there – Hynes, Debbie Harry and Nelly Furtado? Well I’m here to tell you it works. Hynes’ long-lost punk band past finds rebirth with Blondie’s frontwoman, while Furtado’s cameo is an indie pop dream. This isn’t a feminist album, however, this IS an album that champions the other. Unapologetically political, Hynes softly opines, “All I ever wanted was a chance for myself.” And anyone who has experienced life on the outside, feels their heart gently break.

56

It’s pretty rare for a band to generate so much buzz that it sells out four consecutive tours before it’s even released a debut album. So it comes as no surprise that Safia’s latest LP is one of the most highly anticipated of the year. Eric Dubowsky’s fingerprints are all over this one (having previously mixed for Flume and Flight Facilities), but most importantly the band has self-produced a killer debut that stays true to its directional take on electronic indie pop. ‘Embracing Me’ and ‘Close To You’ are standouts, and ‘Together, Locked Safely’ is a laid-back banger, crying out for a summer festival to set alight.

Finally, we receive Montaigne's glorious debut album and we're happy to say she has reached new heights (get it?!). Opening with an energetic title track, her new album is sparkling pop in the vein of Florence and the Machine. You can feel it in the driving drums, soaring vocals and (dare I say it) even in the artwork. At times, the album also channels the best of Kimbra with ‘In The Dark’ and Charli XCX with ‘Because I Love You’. So, basically all the best pop references of the last decade. However, I want to be clear here: this is a delightfully original work and what a great place to start.

Splendour Style Splendour in the Grass has come and gone for another year. And while we were pretty impressed with the music, we were really there to check out the sartorial side of things.

PHOTOGRAPHER JACKSON GRANT WORDS VERONICA STANFORD

CHRISTINA Who’s your style icon? I’ve got to say Mimi Elashiry. She’s gorgeous. Have you planned out your outfits for every day? I have, hopefully I end up wearing them all to plan. Did you go shopping especially for Splendour or pull from your wardrobe? Ah, a bit of both.

JORDAN How long did it take you to get ready today? Ten minutes. Did you go shopping especially for Splendour? No, it was just all in my wardrobe. What’s the worst trend you’ve seen so far? Not sure. When I know, I’ll let you know.

SCARLETT How long did it take you to get ready today? About two and a half hours. Did you plan your outfits in advance? I laid them all out on my bed individually before I packed them and made sure I had every single component of each. What’s the worst outfit you’ve seen today? Um... jeggings. Any kind of leggings really. LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS.

58

SUMMER How long did it take you to get ready today? Oh, like two or three hours. Have you got outfits planned for each day? Yes I have, and they are all by the same brand too: Rat and Boa. Did you go shopping especially for Splendour? Not really, everything was online so it came from the UK. I picked up little bits here and there. I’ve also been to a few of the stalls here and they are so nice.

AVANI How long did it take you to get ready today? It actually didn’t take very long, which was good. It was very hot though, so it was a bit of a struggle. What’s your style inspiration? I just pick up things on the internet wherever I can find them. I think things that are loud and fun are pretty good. What’s the biggest no-no for festival dressing? I think any kind of cultural appropriation is pretty bad. Good to see there isn’t too much of that around.

SCEN ERY

FJ

ROCHELLE AND CAL Tell us about your outfit choice. Cal: It’s a bit different to something we would usually wear around. Rochelle: You can do whatever you want at festivals, so why not? Did you go shopping especially for Splendour? Rochelle: Yeah, I always like having clothes especially for festivals. Cal: I had this shirt but I bought these overalls for Splendour. Did you plan out separate outfits for each day? Yeah we did (laughs).

ANNALISE Who’s your style icon? I don’t have any. I usually dress quite bohemian and hippy-like but this year I wanted to go very Burning Man – a bit crazier with a lot of blacks and different cool, psychedelic colours. Did you go shopping especially for Splendour? No, I don’t go shopping. I collaborate with different designers. So who’s your outfit by? I’m wearing Understated Leather, Claudia Pink and Aumi NYC – all overseas designers. Oh, and Spell boots!

KURT What was your style inspiration for today? This appointment. Did you go shopping especially for Splendour? Yep, I did. Have you planned out your outfits for every day? You think this just comes in a shop like this?
