Managing Partner: Private Equity Fund – East and Sub-Saharan Africa Our client is a leading player in the financial services sector across East and Sub-Saharan Africa and is in the process of establishing a Private Equity Fund that will be managed out of both Kenya and South Africa. Our client is looking for an ambitious, motivated and determined professional with entrepreneurial drive to take the operation forward. The fund will focus its investment activities on established industries in the SME space. Our client is looking for and experienced manager who can be influential in the marketing of the fund to the international investor community. As Managing Partner you will be responsible for:
You will have the following attributes or experience:
! managing the fund;
! an established network of contacts in East and Sub-Saharan Africa;
! assisting in the marketing of the fund;
! an established network in the regional and international investment
community, which will assist in fund raising activities;
! identifying opportunities for investment; ! implementation of a regulatory and operational structure for the fund;
! mobility and willingness to travel extensively;
! negotiating contracts and legal agreements; and
! a minimum of 10 years experience in investment banking, with a
! upholding corporate governance, compliance and Code of Ethics
standards.
minimum of five years Private Equity experience; ! extensive deal origination and execution experience; ! a clear understanding of the tax and legal frameworks within the region; ! extremely financially literate; and ! relevant professional qualification: CA, LLB or Engineering background.
