Christmas in Czech Republic
TRADITIONS In our country we have got a lot of traditions. My favourite tradition is golden pig. If we want to see golden pig on Christmas Eve we can't eat any food. We build small Betlehem with Jesus and we put it in front of the tree.
TRADITIONS We cut apples. There is often a star inside an apple. We put a scale from carp into our wallets.
TRADITIONS We decoration a Christmas tree. We hang flasks, light and a star up the tree. It’s really nice. I really like launching boats from nuts with candle and throwing a shoe.
Christmas Eve On Christmas Eve we sing carols and we eat sweets. We decorate tree at 24. 12. and there is lovely atmosphere. Than we have small lunch and we watch MrazĂk on TV. In the evening when it’s dark we have dinner. First we have soup with vegetables and mushrooms. Than we have carp with potato salad and sweets. After the dinner we hear bell and we can unwrap presents. A lot of people go to Midnight Mass.
Advent Advent are four weeks before Christmas, when we prepare for Christmas. For example we bake sweets. Or we create presents for our family and friends. Every Sunday we light a candle on Christmas wreath. We fast.
