So you’ve been raising your two kids, and you’ve also been touring and writing music consistently since Changing Horses in 2009. What made you want to open your own record label, The Noise Company, on top of all of that? m,+8',n#H#85(,,#F5,!#65*(#+%,)%+!K#-'(%# K"5#,)K#+!#0+@(#!')!#m0)58',n9#M(<)5,(#H# &($%+!(0K#')/(#)#0"!#"%#.K#60)!(#!')!I,# for sure. So I look forward to putting out music for other people down the road. So how did producing it through your own label change your approach to writing and the release of the album? Well the writing of it didn’t change. I -+00#,)K#!'(#<*()!+/(#,+&(#"7#-')!#H#&"# has always remained a certain way. ?,#7)*#),#!'(#)<!5)0#*(0(),(#"7#+!;#!')!I,# been a big difference because I for !'(#$*,!#!+.(#8(!#!"#*()00K#.)@(#!'(# decisions and decide like if we want !"#')/(#<*)]K#)0>5.#)*!-"*@;#!'+,#+,# how much it’s going to cost and this is how much we’re going to put into it and I can make those decisions myself instead of someone else saying “No you can’t do it! “ or “yes!

Well that is our plan, there’s nothing that’s close to happening so it’s &($%+!(0K#+%#"5*#60)%#7"*#,5*(9#:(# want to take it slow. We don’t want to be one of those labels that starts up and signs a bunch of bands and then goes out of business. Makes sense. So we’ll talk a little bit more now about the newest album Go Fly a Kite. I can trace a lot of the lyrics back to exact times and places, but there’s nothing that I would really pinpoint on the record just being like, “Yeah, this one guy, fuck him. Fair enough. So we’ll talk a little bit more about the sound then. It reminds me a lot more of your earlier albums, especially compared to Changing Horses which had a little bit more of the country feel to it. Is there a reason you went back to that? Well it was always in the plan. I had been working on the songs for C')%8+%8#R"*,(,#7"*#K()*,9#?%&#(/(*K# time I would write a country song, I would put it on my list. Speaking of, a lot of the songs on Go Fly a Kite like “Gossip,” “Jealous Girl,” “Full Circle,” they all deal with betrayal and hurt feelings, and it seems to be a theme. Is there a story behind that? ='(*(#)*(#)#>5%<'#"7#,!"*+(,9#HI/(# experienced a lot of that in the past few years, with friendships that

You seem very comfortable with your musical style, like you said Changing Horses was kind of a departure.
