evada Innovation Challenge will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Chico, CA. The Sierra Nevada Innovation Challenge occurred in the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company’s Big Room and served as the only statewide Most Innovative Product Competition exclusively focused on businesses located outside of the Bay Area, Greater Los Angeles and Greater San Diego. - By Lorianne Riley
Blessing Of The Grapes
N
ew Clairvaux Vineyard celebrated harvest with their Annual “Blessing of the Grapes” Event on August 2nd. The ceremony began with a captivating procession of the monastery’s whiterobed monks chanting and singing through the vineyard. Abbot Paul Mark Schwan conducted the centuries-old European tradition where workers and vineyards are blessed to ensure a robust harvest and wine making season. Winery tours, barrel tasting, and complimentary wine sampling followed the ceremony. - By Aimee Sunseri
