Green Scene-Awards In The Arts
Kruschke Piano Competition SU, Chico Department of Music and Theatre student Naoko Terakado recently won two piano performance prizes. Terakado, a music student majoring in Recording Arts and Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy at Chico State, won both the Second Prize of $500 and the Special Prize of $100 (The Johannes Brahms Award) in the 2013 Earl R. and Marilyn Ann Kruschke Prize in Piano Performance Competition, a statewide competition open to outstanding college, university, and high school piano students.

ina Gower from Chico, California was honored Sunday night, April 14, at the 29th Annual L. Ron Hubbard Achievement awards at the prestigious Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, California and captured the Golden Pen Award, the internation grand prize for the Writers of the Future contest as well as a cash prize of $5,000. - By Carmen Barth
